Marcus Hutchinson writes: How did u animate the lego figure on the styrofoam? Mark: As we have learned with both Johnny Thunder and the Secret of Marco Polo and Gone Ice Fishin' , animating on smooth surfaces can be very tricky. However, for the Styrofoam, we were able to slightly press the minifigure character into the surface, as the Styrofoam will give with a little pressure. Before we begin, however, here is the answer to the previous challenge: Lance's Potatoes.      There are five loose potatoes laying on the floor, meaning it will take 5 half hours (150 min.) to peel all of the potatoes. This teaser may only show two characters (Freddy and Frederick the Frog), but it certainly shows the animation style that will be used for Freddy and Joey - The Duck and the Strawberries , which will be released next month.      Also, a new fire documentary that was mentioned in passing earlier, has been announced! Titled Yellowstone: The Firestorm of 1988 , the film will use many of the same techniques that were applied to last year's documentary Worcester Cold Storage Warehouse Fire , including pans, intense music and sound effects to accompany the images. The film will be released later this month.      Check back tomorrow, when the next Tales of the Adventurers goes online!

This time, Johnny, Pippin, Sarah and Dr. Kilroy are on an expedition in the arctic. Who knows what they'll find...      Also, during the week, the studio received a letter from none other than the FDNY (no joke)! In the letter, a copy of the Ken Burns-style documentary Worcester Cold Storage Warehouse Fire was requested in DVD form for the department's training program. "It is quite the honor to have one of our films used by one of the most distinguished fire departments," said Daniel Bermudez, the creator of the film. The disc was sent out today, with a hopeful response by the end of the month.      In addition, the 24-hour animation contest film will be written, filmed, edited, and released tomorrow. Headquarters; May 20, 2010)      Just a few days after the release of the second trailer for Johnny Thunder and the Gift of the Nile , another new film titled Station 9 has been released! This new film, hosted on the new Flashover Films channel, gives the viewer a tour of Santa Ana Fire Department Station 9 and gives essential advice to rookie firemen. Also, the film features a facts reel and a training montage.      Now the studio can focus enitrely on other projects. Johnny Thunder and the Gift of the Nile will be released July 16th, 2010, and Forest of Fear may come out October 8th, 2010.

The first, released on the company's second Youtube Channel ( http://www.youtube.com/user/Flashoverfilms ), is a stylized short documentary about the Worcester Cold Storage Warehouse Fire. It is designed to be both informative about the event and respectful to the Worcester Six who lost their lives in the blaze. The project was created for the Fire Tech 105 class at College of the Canyons.      Also, as promised, the new trailer for Johnny Thunder and the Gift of the Nile is now online! Unlike the other trailers, this one uses the actual voices that will appear in the finished film.
