Studio Update: Getting Ready for Halloween and the Rest of 2014

By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; October 24, 2014)      Halloween is almost here, and that means our villain countdown is almost over and that it's time for another studio update! Let's see what's been going on.      Some could argue that it violates our current policy, but both True Identity and Johnny Thunder and the Wisdom of the Ancients Production Gallery were released today. However, it is worth mentioning that only one of them is an actual film, which the policy applies to. The other is a behind the scenes video, which the policy of not releasing more than one film a day does not effect. Both are available on YouTube, though there is a possibility that True Identity will also be released on Vimeo.      In other news, plans are being shaped out for the remainder of Ten Years of Going Crazy!, as 2014 is coming to a close. "There wasn't as much nostalgia towards old-school Mustache Maniacs Film Co. this year than we hoped," sa…

Archive Collections: Delectable Edible Premiere Delights

By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; October 4, 2014)      With the results from our latest poll in, it's now time to show off the winning Archive Collections! If you weren't hungry before you read this, you will be after the fact!      Whenever a high-profile film is released, it is always certain that there will be a premiere to accompany it. For Johnny Thunder and the Wisdom of the Ancients, this was no exception, as nearly the entire cast and crew arrived to watch the finished film. However, for this special occasion, director Andrew Bermudez wanted to celebrate the occasion in a special way: a pre-show dinner with cuisines based on the film! While we don't have pictures of all of them, here are some of the highlights from that night's dinner.       First up is Rice Cake Stonehenge, which, as its name suggests, is a replica of Stonehenge made from rice cakes. It doesn't feature the entire monument, but rather the innermost monoliths. Ho…

All New Ask Mark Matthew!

By: Andrew Bermudez (LEGO Studios; October 2, 2014)      Today we bring you another 'Ask Mark Matthew,' containing 100% new material! Let's get started!
TLFScarheart writes:I tried voting for the next archive collection but it said 0 votes afterwards and didn't show mine. Might want to make sure it's working. Mark: Don't worry. It's working. It just has a bit of a time lag, so the current results don't immediately show up.
HollywoodLego writes: Question, I know that Jim was destroyed [at the end of Johnny Thunder and the Wisdom of the Ancients], but how? What happened to him? Mark: According to the film, the portal only allows those that desire unselfish love to pass through, while the greedy are destroyed. Because Jim Carew was greedy for supreme domination and the Gem of the Hidden Mysteries, the portal's power, which is the true treasure, destroyed Jim by electrocuting him with lightning (with a stray bolt frying Patrick's pith helmet). Willie Swipe Returns and a Backpack Thief Arrives!

By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; October 1, 2014)      As "Ten Years of Going Crazy!" winds down to a close, we are happy to announce two new short films, one with a release before the end of the month, the other coming in 2015. While neither is stop-motion animation, both are guaranteed to be hilarious to watch!      First off is an all-new traditional animation, which currently has the working title of Alms Pouch. The central character is Martha Parker, and old homeless woman who must deal with burglar Willie Swipe (from Night Guard), who has stolen all of her money in the world! Be sure to watch this hilarious animation to see how she will vanquish this clumsy crook. The film is slated for an early summer 2015 release.      If you can't wait that long, another short film will be released later this month, which is titled True Identity. The film centers around a girl who gets her backpack stolen by a thief! Yet, there is a surprise that eve…
