Studio Update: "Johnny Thunder 3" to Finish Filming in May, Global Explorations Details, and The State of "Project U"

By: Andrew Bermudez (LEGO Studios; April 24, 2014)      Tomorrow is the fifth anniversary of the release of The Adventures of Legoman , so to commemorate this event, here is a look at what has been happening around the studio lately.      To start things off, we have very good news: we have gotten word that the film crew for Johnny Thunder and the Wisdom of the Ancients  will be finishing the Machu Picchu scenes this weekend, after which the action sequence on the Urubamba River will be shot. In fact, according to director Steven Lawrence, "it looks like the film's production will come to a close by the end of May. After we leave Peru, we only have one more location to go to, and that won't take long at all. A lot has happened since filming started in November 2011." With a tight post-production schedule, it looks like the film's release on July 18 will be a photo finish, so to speak.      Because of this tight schedule, several measures are being made to

All New Ask Mark Matthew!

By: Andrew Bermudez (LEGO Studios; April 18, 2014)      Today we bring you another 'Ask Mark Matthew,' containing 100% new material! Let's get started! Garrett LeSueur writes: What happened to the sound on this part [part 7 of Johnny Thunder and the Gift of the Nile ]? Mark: Thanks for pointing that out, Garrett! Otherwise, that would have slipped our notice. There must have been a glitch that muted the sound. Don't worry, though. Since this film is being converted to 3-D next month, we'll fix this issue then. Drew Christopherson writes: Where is The Full Late for The Soccer Match Movie? Mark: That is Late for the Soccer Match where you left this question, but in order to progress to the next part of the film, you have to select either the bus or the trolley, as this film is interactive. We hope you enjoy the film when you go back to watch the movie again and again to see all of the combinations! Garrett LeSueur writes: I can't wait for your third Jo

Studio Update: Website to be Updated for "Johnny Thunder 3" and "Project U!"

By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; April 12, 2014)      There has been a lot of activity here as we prepare for not only our tenth birthday on April 18 and some surprises to be featured that day, but also for the release of Johnny Thunder and the Wisdom of the Ancients  on July 18! Here's a look at some of the recent events around the studio.      First off, the creator of the Dino Attack RPG, PeabodySam, has invited the RPG's veteran players to help collaborate with the Project U-Build Play Set Adventures team to develop the wave of sets based on the said RPG. "We are happy to be working with such a talented group of storytellers and writers," said Drawn to Life Animation head Steve Brocko. "By getting even more insight into this unique series of play set adventures, we are sure that this wave of set instructions will be a true hit." No timetable has been set for the set instructions' release, but they may come out as ea

First Look at "Johnny Thunder 3"!

By: Andrew Bermudez (LEGO Studios; April 6, 2014)      As Spring Break comes to a close, we would like to give you a first look at what you might expect to see in Johnny Thunder and the Wisdom of the Ancients , coming July 18! Now, as the crew begins to conclude filming in Peru, we will now give a first look at the film that has been four years in the making. Lord Sinister and Patrick at the home of John "Six Shots" Parker and William "Billy the Kid" Parker.       To say that film was in hot water since its conception would be an understatement; the film as it will appear this summer is actually the product of six  complete re-writes of the original script. However, unlike the five re-writes for Johnny Thunder and the Secret of Marco Polo , where only details and characters were changed, this film is an original adventure, meaning that anything in it was fair game, except for the main characters, of course. Entire locations, minor characters, action sequen

All New Ask Mark Matthew!

By: Andrew Bermudez (LEGO Studios; April 1, 2014)      Today we bring you another 'Ask Mark Matthew,' containing 100% new material! Let's get started! Automated Question Generator writes: What is the answer to today's April Fool's Day prank? Mark: Of the three announcements, the only one that is legitimate is...the "blind bag" characters. They will be available in the fall along with the sets based on Forest of Fear and Attack of the Fifty-Foot Hamster . However, there are some things to mention in regard to the two "April Fool's" announcements. First, we are NOT bringing back Com 50. On the contrary, because of issues and a general lack of online popularity (even though the award trivia is true), we are cancelling the re-release of Com 50-3: Raid on Central Island . In addition, the re-release of Jolly Roger and the Pirate Queen will still continue, but the interactive elements will be dropped. Again, this is because of issues and a

Three New Announcements!

By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; April 1, 2014)      As spring break wears on, there has been lots of activity here at the studio, including the fixing and 3-D conversion of Johnny Thunder and the Secret of Marco Polo . So, we would like to announce some new developments. Let's get started!      First off, we are pleased to announce that we will be rebooting the Com 50 saga! "Back when they were first created, the Com 50 trilogy received tremendous praise," said Mustache Maniacs Film Co. CEO Andrew Bermudez. "In fact, at The Second Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Fan Choice Awards , Com 50 and 007  won for best re-release, proving their popularity to this day." Just like the original films, this reboot will be created in live action. Andrew continued, "This diversification will get us back into the live action business, adding yet another project that fans can look forward to in addition to the ten Project U films." The fir
