Re-cap of "Ten Years at the Sail" and Looking to July!

Image
By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; June 30, 2016)      After an entire month of pirate fun, Jolly Roger and the Pirate Queen: Ten Years at the Sail  is now over. Here's a look at what went on over the past month.      The main highlight of the month was, of course, the re-release of Jolly Roger and the Pirate Queen . While it hasn't gotten the attention that we thought it would get, we are still happy to have this film online as a resource for anyone wanting to stage their own version of this popular play. We also added new Wiki pages, introduced the new show Backstage Showcase , and ran the unsuccessful Make-a-Pirate Contest. For the last point, no entries were made, possibly because of the on-going Canon that Time Forgot Contest, which ends July 31, so the contest results is that nothing happens. As for Backstage Showcase , as mentioned before, episode 3 will be out this Saturday, with future episodes coming every other Saturday.      Anothe

Join the "Ninjago: Visions of Memories" Hype!

Image
By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; June 18, 2016)      Get ready to be psyched about our upcoming animated film Ninjago: Visions of Memories ! If you weren't hyped about it before, you will be after seeing the poster! It looks like the ninja have outdone the pirates that were dominating this month!      The poster's not final, as there's no composer or actors for Sensei Wu and Dareth attached to the project (so the credits have placeholders), but it does establish the look of the film. It's going to be really dark and dramatic! Surprisingly, there's already a MPAA rating for the film, among other things, including a peek at the movie's elaborate set, which we'll be featuring in a future post, as well as in this film's behind the scenes video. To talk about this film (or the Rebrick Ninjago contest in general) on social media, use the hashtag #LEGONINJAGOgreatestvillain to spread the word!      Speaking of videos, there

Cinematic Universe!      As you may know, yesterday was the official online re-release for  Jolly Roger and the Pirate Queen ( watch it here ) and that, like many of our other films, is part of our official cinematic universe. However, you might be think that, since this film takes place in 1792, it doesn't bear any relevance on our other films. Actually, it does have some relevance! Let's see where Jolly Roger and the Pirate Queen connects to our other films! Johnny Thunder and the Wisdom of the Ancients  - This connection is probably the most obvious. Remember how Roger Goodman found that cursed ring in the cave on Treasure Island? Well, according to the official canon, Roger Goodman kept tha

By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; June 6, 2016)      Today we bring you another 'Ask Mark Matthew,' containing 100% new material! Let's get started! Jack Maroney writes: And also could I make a story based on Harry Cane's experience in the Vietnam War [for The Canon that Time Forgot ]? Mark:  While I would say that Harry Cane is one of our more developed characters, a story about him during the Vietnam War would work as an entry. ourtoyworldRTW writes: Can I make a story based on Chase McCain vs the Kingfisher [for  The Canon that Time Forgot ]? Mark:  As long as it doesn't contradict the canon, yes. HollywoodLego writes: would you consider remaking Johnny thunder and the secret of Marco Polo. I'm not saying you should. But just think of what you could do with it, the new technology, make new lines, fix some problems you might have had with the original, more cinematic shots. And establish more scenes so they&

Welcome to Ten Years at the Sail!

By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; June 1, 2016)      Summer vacation has just started for many people, which brings up the inevitable question: what will I do? How about spend one month with pirates? Would you do it?      Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate such a vacation opportunity, since pirates are actually vicious outlaws, and doing so would suggest that we condone these behaviors. Instead, to celebrate the tenth anniversary of our classic film, Jolly Roger and the Pirate Queen , we're launching this month-long celebration:      Today marks the official tenth anniversary of the play's performance (it was performed June 1-3, 2006), but we're sounding off this celebration to last the whole month! Here's a look at what we have in store. Re-Release of Jolly Roger and the Pirate Queen  (June 17) - That's right, the film that this celebration is gauged around is going to return!
