Two Cancellations are Here and an Advance Preview is Coming!

By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; July 26, 2014)      In an unexpected turn of events, we have some news today. Some of it is good, some of it is bad, but all of it is current! Let's see what has been going on lately.      First off, two of our upcoming films, the re-release of Jolly Roger and the Pirate Queen  and the remake of Legoettes Take Manhattan  have both been cancelled. "With all of the work that we need to do to finish Johnny Thunder and the Wisdom of the Ancients  and start production on Project U, these two films are little more than distractions," said LEGO Studios CEO Mark Matthew. "While it did get some love, Mystery at Shady Acres  didn't do very well, and the idea for Legoettes Take Manhattan  has just been collecting dust since January. Nobody has even written a script yet." The two release slots are now vacant, in case another production can fill their space.      On a better note, fans that follow us o

Solarum Will Get Its Own Film and Other Project U News!

By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; July 20, 2014)      As Johnny Thunder and the Wisdom of the Ancients  nears its release date of August 22, it's time to look at some news, including a new contest entry! Let's get going!      First off, an entry to the contest BRAWL 2014 has just been announced! While it is very early in its development stage, it is going to be a filmed centered on the fictitious appliance and green energy company Solarum from New Friends ~ An Environmental Fable . Talking about the matter, director Seth Master said, "for the said film's ending in the Hall of Extinction, a rich and deep back story was developed to tell how the museum ended up the way it did, which will be told in the LEGO Time Cruisers-based film A Future in the Past . One of these elements was the guard's flashlight, which says was made by the company Solarum. It's hard to read in the film, but it's there. Anyway, it was a nice touch that

Johnny Thunder 3's Filming Wraps Up!

By: Andrew Bermudez (LEGO Studios; July 15, 2014)      After two and a half years of production, through several locations, setbacks, and complications, filming for Johnny Thunder and the Wisdom of the Ancients  has wrapped up! "We are glad to have this production complete this phase, as we are certain that many fans are looking forward to this film," said LEGO Studios CEO Mark Matthew. "Now with this out of the way, we can now focus on the editing process for this film, which is already underway." Having a predicted run time that is longer than either of the first two Johnny Thunder films, editing is going to take a long time to complete. That's why the release date was pushed back to August 22.      But the filming itself was a lot of fun, even if it did take a long time. So much happened in that span of time between November 2011 and today, including simultaneous filming for other films, the conceptualizing and realizations for both Ten Years of Going

A New Form of Casting Call!

By: Andrew Bermudez (LEGO Studios; July 14, 2014)      Tomorrow, filming is expected to wrap for Johnny Thunder and the Wisdom of the Ancients . This, combined with the progress in editing, guarantees its release on August 22, so we hope you'll tune in that day for Johnny's latest adventure!      However, news broke today that the studio is calling on the fan base to fill parts for the upcoming saga, Project U. "We are looking to diversify our selection of actors," said LEGO Studios CEO Mark Matthew. "We have also learned that, by using the internet, almost anyone around the world can become part of one or more of our animated films. The Film School Challenge already proved this, so we are now calling upon our fan base again to fill roles in our films, from a leading character to an extra." With that said, the studio has now put out a posting for the fans to sign up for character auditions.      Here's how it works: look down the list of availab

Archive Collections: Designs of Great Character

By: Andrew Bermudez (LEGO Studios; July 11, 2014)      As filming for Johnny Thunder and the Wisdom of the Ancients  comes to a close, we are happy to bring you another Archive Collections, this one being full of concept art! This time, you will not only learn about our characters, but how artistic designs change over the course of a production! Let's get started!      Whenever working on any production, whether it be live action or animated, a certain amount of concept art is needed to aid in creating the feel of the production. The main reason concept art is created is to help visually convey the artist's view of how the film should look, all within the art director's discretion, of course. Because of this, changes in designs are bound to occur. This is especially true for characters, which are constantly seeing a shift in design. So, in chronological order, here are pieces of concept art for Mustache Maniacs Film Co. characters! Pencil and color pencil on newsp

Studio Update: Welcome the Nexus Force's Newest Member

By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; July 4, 2014)      To celebrate America's Independence Day, we have just made several announcements at our Independence Day party. Some of it is good, some of it relates to delays, but it is all important and exciting nonetheless. Let's get started!      First, just a few days after the end of the Nexus Force Character Creation Sweepstakes, we have a winner: Marcus Hutchinson with his character Sairento Hato. Congratulations to Marcus for winning this contest; we are already working your character into the script for Legends of the Universe and we hope that you are excited to act in another one of our films.      Unfortunately, with good news there is also some bad news. Because of problems regarding the editing for Johnny Thunder and the Wisdom of the Ancients , the film's release date has been pushed back to August 22nd. However, to make up for this delay, a new trailer for the film that reflects the ne
