All New Ask Mark Matthew!

Today we bring you another 'Ask Mark Matthew,' containing 100% new material! Let's get started!

Marcus Hutchinson writes: How did u animate the lego figure on the styrofoam?
Mark: As we have learned with both Johnny Thunder and the Secret of Marco Polo and Gone Ice Fishin', animating on smooth surfaces can be very tricky. However, for the Styrofoam, we were able to slightly press the minifigure character into the surface, as the Styrofoam will give with a little pressure. This allowed us to keep the minifigure in the same spot during the shoot.

joek0617 writes: why is this top-and-bottom [of Worcester Cold Storage Warehouse Fire] letterboxed? defeats to point of uploading HD if you just make the video smaller
Mark: It was actually a rendering error, which was not uncommon in the early days of our HD films. In fact, the same issue happened to Forest of Fear. We also had a nasty error in both Seth Masterson vs. Shark Hoops and Late for the Soccer Match that crammed the widescreen frame into full screen, making the frames look squished. No wonder we ditched all of our previously-used Pinnacle and Magix software in favor of an Adobe software workflow.

That's it for today's edition of Ask Mark Matthew! don't forget that if you have a question, send it either as a private message to YouTube user Mustache Maniacs Film Co. or as a message on the "Contact Us" page on the Mustache Maniacs Film Co. website. Until then, we'll be making movies!
Notice: The Second Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Fan Choice Awards has been delayed by yet another week, now to February 14. Do not worry. When it is released, it's sure to look great!
