The Year in Review: 2025
By: Andrew Bermudez
(Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; December 31, 2025)
Another year is over, and with it comes some very exciting projects, which led to a busier than expected year. We released five new films in total, and we've ramped up our production pipeline for the years ahead! As that begins to unfold, let's take a look back at what happened this year.
January
The year started out with the release of our THAC 2025 entry, An Imposter's Mission! This short sci-fi comedy, while not winning any prizes, set up the year on a strong note. This film reinterpreted the fish-out-of-water narrative with space aliens for some hilarious comedy! If you haven't seen it yet, the film has been embedded above so you can watch it.
This month also saw the introduction of a few operational changes. For starters, the Original Cuts releases introduced in 2024 for Twenty Years Young became exclusive to the official website. This was done to avoid confusion for newer fans while still preserving many of our original films. We also updated our policy about announcing release dates in order to avoid having to publicly delay projects again and again, which went into effect in March of this year. And we also announced our intention to begin adding official subtitles to all of our past films in order to better align them with current releases, which began around Spring Break of this year.
February
While The Fourth Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Fan Choice Awards saw its last delay into the second half of 2025 this month, the only real news that happened in February was the announcement of Sand: The Movie. The official description waxed poetic about the mysteries of sand, but not much else in order to avoid spoilers. This film was also our first film to be officially affected by the new release policy from January.
March
March was pretty uneventful, mostly being dedicated to working internally on new projects, as well as updating the website and the wiki. However, we did finish Sand: The Movie on time for an April 1 debut, though that was mainly because...
April
April Fools! Sand: The Movie ended up being a joke film where literally nothing happened. Regardless, this film ended up being a hit, mainly because of how relaxing the film ended up being. With this project out of the way, more time was focused on rolling out subtitles for all of our legacy projects online, mainly by spending time creating these subtitles in the first place.
May

AI-generated image of the new Godzilla created for the re-release of Com 50-3: Raid on Central Island. Beginning in 2026, AI-generated images such as this one will no longer be permitted.
May was not a busy month, but this did mark the beginning of introducing retroactive subtitles to all of our previous films. Films from 2020 - 2023 received their subtitles this month, and it was revealed that more films would get subtitles throughout the rest of the year.
This was also the month that we finally confirmed the results of several technology tests that had been conducted throughout recent years. Starting in 2026, all Mustache Maniacs Film Co. projects would be held up to very specific quality standards, including universal mouth animation (unless time did not allow), better set design, restrictions on the use of AI (including no longer allowing any AI-generated imagery), and more. These upgrades will affect all upcoming releases.
June
While there were no films released this month, two releases for July were announced back-to-back! The first was for Dino Attack: Saga of a Conflict: The Motion Comic, an animated adaptation of the comics of the same name. The second was a BRAWL 2025 entry, later revealed to be Eye of the Baron's Storm, that focused on the overarching villain of Project U: Baron Typhonus. Throughout the end of the month, work began on the BRAWL entry while the finishing touches to the motion comic were made behind the scenes.
July
July saw the release of not one, but two new films! The first, Dino Attack: Saga of a Conflict: The Motion Comic, was developed entirely by affiliate PeabodySam by reusing the comics to retell the story of the opening of the namesake RPG with original audio and editing! The film was released on July 1, the to-the-day twentieth anniversary of the debut of Dino Attack RPG.
In the meantime, Andrew Bermudez was still hard at work with the BRAWL 2025 entry, Eye of the Baron's Storm, which saw massive effects work throughout the first week of July. In spite of the challenges that arose, the film finally debuted on July 6 to great acclaim. While the film didn't win any prizes, it was still lauded for its characterizations, scenic design, and effects, as well as creating anticipation for future projects that feature Baron Typhonus.
In addition to these two titles, more subtitles debuted at the end of the month and a behind the scenes video showcased a shot that was cut from Eye of the Baron's Storm. Also, The Fourth Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Fan Choice Awards finished production at the end of this month.
August
August was the month that The Fourth Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Fan Choice Awards began to wind down production. It was all about post-production work to finalize this long-delayed film.
September
And that post-production continued into September. There were many other projects behind the scenes that started to ramp up development at this time, including many that will be announced at The Fourth Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Fan Choice Awards, so that contributed to the slow-down.
October
On October 1, it was made official that The Fourth Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Fan Choice Awards would be released on November 14, which also marked an acceleration in the film's post-production phase. While the film was complicated to edit due to the effects-heavy music video for Happy Celebration, the film was finished in short order, ready for its grand debut! However, the film was still delayed to December 19, mainly due to a conflict in the existing schedule. On the other hand, the short form documentary, Curt Freeman: In His Own Words, was officially announced to commemorate his 100th birthday. The film does not currently have a release date.
November
This month saw The Fourth Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Fan Choice Awards receive its final touches as editing progressed. Final auditions were also held this month. While they were very fruitful, they weren't enough to keep this project on-track. Therefore...
December
The Fourth Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Fan Choice Awards was delayed to Spring 2026 in order to complete the needed voice recordings. Because of this, some schedule changes were made internally, but this does mean that we're going to focus on higher quality for this project, as per our new policy changes, which will go into effect on January 1, 2026. The first film that will be affected by these changes will be our THAC 2026 entry, which will officially release on January 4, 2026.
