One Last Delay: "The Fourth Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Fan Choice Awards" is Now Releasing Spring 2026!

(Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; December 19, 2025)

Yes. It's true. The Fourth Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Fan Choice Awards has been delayed to 2026. Why this is, and what we're doing in the meantime, are down below.

Why Has The Fourth Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Fan Choice Awards Been Delayed Again?

While this ceremony finished filming months ago, the main reason for this delay simply comes down to one thing: we're having trouble casting all of the new roles. We were recently able to fill many of the roles, but most of them are still unfilled. We're currently working with these new performers to get these lines recorded, with the expectation that everyone knows that this awards ceremony won't be released until next year. In the meantime, editing is picking back up speed, with all of these new voice recordings helping things along. We will keep you updated when a new release date is announced.

Our Final Push for Voice Recordings

On top of this, we are still in need of recording all of the voices for everyone who is reprising their roles. This will happen mostly in January, but we're going to push for this tremendously once the first weekend of the new year passes. We want to get this long-delayed film out as soon as possible, so we're going to waste no time in completing it for next Spring. As for why we're waiting until after the first weekend to start this campaign? The answer is below.

Our THAC 2026 Entry is Coming January 4, 2026!

Once again, we're going all in with THAC on January 3, with an all-new original film debuting on January 4! Per the contest rules, we don't have a plot figured out yet, but we will update everyone here when the film's title and story have been finalized. One thing that we can confirm, however, is that this will be the first film of ours that will be affected by the new policies regarding higher quality and production values. As a recap, here are the new production quality policies.

  • Overlaid (and expertly keyed) mouth animation is now becoming the standard for all stop-motion animation brickfilms. Unless the production timeframe does not allow it, all dialogue will include mouth animation.
  • No one likes blurry things, and while this has been an issue in the past, it's not going to be considered acceptable going forward. All animation that has already been shot for upcoming projects will be reevaluated this year. Starting in 2026, anything that is blurry or poorly composed will be reshot.
  • Live action is going to be making a comeback in a limited capacity, but the poor quality of the pre-formation era will not. Anything that will be shot with live action will first be evaluated to see if it should be shot as live action.
  • As was confirmed last year, generative AI will ONLY be used for strictly administrative tasks or emergency situations. If there's any technical work for any of our projects that can only be achieved with AI, then it will be allowed. However, the previous rule about allowing generative AI for April Fool's Day jokes is being rescinded and is no longer permitted. Idea generation is allowed to use some AI, but all finished products must be human made. Voice recordings are only allowed to be AI generated if the production timeframe means that this is the only option.
  • Any CGI effects or stock footage effects have to be well integrated into the film in order to be considered acceptable. This includes believable lighting, good compositing, and high-resolution effects.
  • Set designs and background layouts are going to push for more detail than before. We've already moved in this direction but set designs will no longer cut corners in any areas that will be visible to the audience. Naturally, support structures are allowed but must be hidden from view. Buildings without backs must now have custom back walls built to make the building look complete from the outside.
  • The studio's entire library of stock assets is being reevaluated this year. Any stock sounds, videos, music, and more that is either poor quality or non-functional will be removed.

More news on this project will, naturally, come on January 3.

What is Happening with Subtitles?

Meanwhile, due to differences in how they're presented online and stored in the digital archive, as well as other commitments, the subtitles for both Alpha Team: Mission Deep Jungle and The Third Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Fan Choice Awards have been delayed for months! Not to worry; we haven't forgotten about these two projects. It's just that multiple things have been taking up our time. However, in January, we will resume work on subtitling our videos. Because these two titles were pushed back, here is the new wave 3 of subtitles, which will debut from January through Spring!

An Answer to the Dimension 201 Question is Coming in 2026!

In case you aren't aware, Dimension 201 is a reality in the Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Cinematic Multiverse that is comprised of some of Daniel and Andrew Bermudez's stories from 2001 through 2007. Currently, that reality's timeline is kind of messy and random, but a solution has been reached internally. How this will be handled will be announced next year, but it will be a solution worth waiting for!
