Studio Update: Release Schedule for Subtitles!

    While we missed our first release window for our much-needed subtitles, we now have an official framework for how we plan on rolling out official subtitles for our films! All of this information is here in today's news update!

Releasing Subtitles in Waves: How Will it Work?

    Based on how we're creating these subtitles in Adobe Premiere (we're doing this so that the subtitles will continue to exist as an offline file as a backup), we've decided to start rolling out the subtitles in waves between this Spring and the end of 2026. They'll be released on a rolling tentative basis, so we don't have exact dates for these releases. However, we do want to ensure that all of our films and other content is mindful of the deaf and hard of hearing. Unlike the auto-generated subtitles of the past, these are being created by using the original scripts as guides, with adjustments made for improvisations as needed. As always, all of our new films and more going forward are going to have subtitles at their releases, as was the case last year.

Subtitle Release Schedule

    As for how we plan on rolling these out for our existing films, we're going to start with our most recent projects, then work backwards from there. We'll be covering 5-year blocks with each wave of subtitles, then we'll move outward to the other videos from there. This is what the current schedule looks like, and which projects will receive subtitles when.

*Any competition entries or other videos not controlled by Mustache Maniacs Film Co. will not receive subtitles.
**Original Cuts releases are currently only available to view through the Mustache Maniacs Film Co. website.

What Will NOT Receive Subtitles?

    Not every video will receive subtitles, though. For instance, any films that have no dialogue will not receive subtitles, though exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis. We're also not going to add subtitles to any of the games, since those do not function properly at the moment and are currently being restored through other means. Once those are ready, they may receive subtitles. In addition, any films that were never released online will, naturally, not receive subtitles.

A First Look at 'Johnny Thunder 2'

Our THAC 2025 Entry, "An Imposter's Mission," Has Arrived!
