What was that? Was today's announcement something from a nightmare induced by spoiled pizza? April Fools! Rap-Trick is not our new film direction! Read on for more information.

April Fools!
If you read everything from our press release earlier today, discard that information, because that was one big April Fool's Day joke! Rap-Trick is not our new film direction, and Patrick: The Movie is still in development for release at a later time. "We love pulling off elaborate April Fools jokes for our fans around here," said LEGO Studios CEO Mark Matthew. "And after the success of our LEGO Dimensions joke from 2017, we wondered how we could top ourselves. Most April Fools jokes surround promising something desirable for the public that will never actually become available, due to a multitude of reasons, but we decided to put a fun spin on that. What if we unveiled something so horrible and repulsive, that the April Fools reveal creates a sigh of relief?" There just remains one question: How do we top THIS joke next year? Now on to real news.

We Don't Care About Being Hip!
During the development of New Friends ~ An Environmental Fable, director Raul Flores would continuously joke that the film's musical score should use trendy songs that would date the film one hour after its release. Generally, this is our sentiment towards trying to be hip in any way, and today's April Fools joke is basically a parody of that hip-ness gone wrong. We try to make films that work not just in their immediate moment, but for years after that. We attribute this philosophy to some of our biggest successes, such as Johnny Thunder and the Secret of Marco Polo and Alpha Team: Mission Deep Jungle.

Pharaoh's Quest: The Curse of Amset-Ra Will Debut on April 17!
After almost nine years in the making, our next big blockbuster, Pharaoh's Quest: The Curse of Amset-Ra will finally make its world debut on April 17! "There will be no more delays," said Mark Matthew, "because we have determined that April 17 will be the ideal day to unveil this great adventure to the world! We know that many fans have been looking forward to this film, and since a new wave of nostalgia for the original Pharaoh's Quest LEGO sets recently arrived in the LEGO community, we feel that this is the right time to release this film." Studio Construction Begins to Go Vertical!
If you're in the construction business, you'll know that to go vertical means that the first pieces of structural steel for the project have been set into place, beginning the framework for the project. The new studio campus has reached that milestone, and we couldn't be more excited! Currently, sound stage 2 and the commissary have started this phase of construction, but due to an existing land agreement, the front half of the lot could not be developed until two months after construction started. However, this hurdle has been cleared, allowing construction on the main gate, electrical department, and property department to begin. The project is expected to be completed December 2020.
