Beware Sobek-Ra in "Patrick: The Movie!"

Sobek-Ra Redesign Finalized!

     Remember how in March we mentioned that the obscure LEGO Pharaoh's Quest character of Sobek-Ra was being redesigned for Patrick: The Movie? Well, we are pleased to announce that his redesign has now been finalized with a concept painting of the character!

     No longer an embarrassing paper box with wings, Sobek-Ra now has the look to stand beside any of Amset-Ra's living statues! Most of his body is modeled after a Nile Crocodile, but keeping in tune with the living statue motif from Pharaoh's Quest, now sports a pair of hawk wings and a pair of ant-lion larva pincers! In addition to the ancient-looking concept painting, we also have released the new character backstory!

For centuries, the enchanted statue of Sobek-Ra rested beneath the desert sands, the only stone guardian of Amset-Ra that Jake Raines and co. never disturbed. Vowing to protect the secret entrance into Amset-Ra's Scorpion Pyramid, this statue nestled beneath the sands with only the tip of its tail exposed to lure in unsuspecting travelers. Once one gets too close, Sobek-Ra will suck the defiler into a sand pit of its making, swallowing whole any trespassers! In 1998, Nevada Smith and his ramshackle team discover this the hard way, awakening the cruel Pharaoh's last remaining guardian!

Sobek-Ra will NOT appear in Pharaoh's Quest: The Curse of Amset-Ra, but only in Patrick: The Movie. For more information about this film, read this press release that gives a first look at the film!

Re-Opening Characters for Casting?

     Back in 2014, when Project U was first announced, all twelve films were supposed to be done by 2020. We clearly weren't able to make that target, but at that time, we quickly cast many roles...then waited until closer to production time to send out their lines. Now, we have people attached to roles that have most likely forgotten that they are playing those characters! Therefore, between now and the end of the year, while we re-evaluate the rest of Project U, we're also going to reopen many of these roles! This project will also see an updating of the audition sheets to reflect the current character designs. More news will follow.
