Time for Another Canon Update!

We have some important news, including an update our official canon! Let's get started!

"The Pen" Delayed to July 12!

Even though filming concluded a little while back, we were unable to get the special effects for the film finished and working in time. Therefore, The Pen is being delayed to its guaranteed final release date: July 12. "We want this film to look its absolute best," said LEGO Studios CEO Mark Matthew. "Because of this, The Pen will need some more time for our effects team to work out the issues with the film. You will be able to enjoy this unique film on July 12." As shown here, the theatrical poster has been updated with the new release date.

Canon Updates!
Another reason for this article is to showcase how Ocean of Fear fits into our cinematic universe, along with other minute changes, so here's what's new.
  • Ocean of Fear is entering the canon as events that take place on June 30, 2019. It follows another vacation for Mary and Leo, who are taking a vacation in Miami.
  • How did Torgo end up in Miami as a boat captain? In 2016, after causing massive trouble at the Bradford Rant Institute of Cosmic Kinesis, Torgo was fired, who decided to move back to the South. He didn't want to go back to Howling Hollow, however, so he decided to move to Miami, Florida, where he got a job working on a cruise ship. He was so successful at this career that he built himself up quickly before starting his own boating business in early 2019.
  • Dimension 525 is also getting some new content! To start, PeabodySam's new story For Want of Nails is entering the official canon as events that occur during the Opposing Forces arc of the Dino Attack RPG, framed as a post-war tenth anniversary retrospective.
  • Originally, Dino Attack: Saga of a Conflict was going to be the canon version of the Dino Attack in Dimension 525. Now that the comics will only serve as an introduction to the RPG (and we can't believe that we haven't done this yet), the Dino Attack RPG is now, in writing, officially part of the canon for Dimension 525.
  • Continuing on, since the Dino Attack RPG is canon, then its prequel RPGs, Alpha Team: Mission Deep Freeze RPG and Alpha Team RPG: Ogel's Last Stand are also now canon. We have also finished the work cannibalizing the rest of Dino Attack RPG's expanded universe as canon events in Dimension 525, or should I say...canon-balizing?
NOTICE: I am the supervisor for our writing team, and after reading that horrible pun, I was forced to fire the writer for this article. I will continue writing from here.
  • To better align with the timeline of events in Dimension 525, Com 50: Peril in Iran now takes place in their year 2008, to coincide with Alpha Team RPG: Ogel's Last Stand.
  • Back to the main reality, the World-Famous Budget Zoo is also getting some new details following and building up on the events of An Afternoon at the Zoo. The chimpanzees were able to swap places with the Hilgome family was because the chimpanzees ate some chemicals that some prior hecklers threw in at them. This, combined with other unsafe substances, gave them their imagination-based superpowers. The chimpanzees were able to travel to Africa, returning themselves to the wild (which was going to happen to them anyway before they were stolen and placed in the Budget Zoo). In 2012, the owner's brother lost his seat on the local city council, and the zoo closed for health reasons in 2013.
Lead Out
That's it for now, but check back for more news throughout the year!

Comments

  1. One thing that is important to keep in mind regarding "Alpha Team: Mission Deep Freeze RPG" and (especially) "The Banned" is that they are only loosely considered canon by "Dino Attack RPG". The original stories contain many plot points (including things like BIONICLE characters, virtual worlds, and ghost-possessed robots) that do not mesh with the current DARPG canon (although they would be fully canon in the "Legends" continuity). Therefore, I imagine that they would only be partially canon in Dimension 525's timeline.
