With St. Patrick's Day around the corner, work is being done on all of the current projects, which, to recap, are Guard Dog, Gone Ice Fishin', the next Tales of the Adventurers, the next From the Vaults re-releases, the website expansion, and Johnny Thunder and the Wisdom of the Ancients. As a special treat, both the next Tales of the Adventurers and the Vacation: Unlimited contest video will be released later today.
However, today, another big announcement was made. When the next website expansion was revealed, it was noted that a major From the Vaults re-release would have its own page. Today, it was revealed that this re-release is a filming of the Cornerstone Thespian Society play Mystery at Shady Acres. "When the play was first put on in 2007, the competition tried to overshadow it, which more or less pushed this film out of the spotlight," said LEGO Studios CEO Mark Matthew. "Also, when this film was released on DVD in 2008, it was overshadowed once again, this time by Johnny Thunder and the Secret of Marco Polo. However, this year we have no major new releases to give out. So this year is Mystery at Shady Acres' year to finally shine."
Produced by special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Service, Inc., Englewood, Colorado, Mystery at Shady Acres tells the story of Edward and Blanche Fairfax, a wealthy British couple who have come to stay in Shady Acres, a hotel in the New England countryside. However, someone has slipped a sedative into Blanche's tea and has made off with her priceless diamond necklace! Soon, the police and bungling Detective Thorton are going head-to-head to see who can slove this case first! It's all out mystery fun at it's finest!
For this re-release, major changes will be made, especially with intermission. "The plan is that, since the original play was an audience participation show, we will have the viewers of this new version scour Shady Acres," said Mark Matthew. "Using the latest CGI technology and the organization of The Lost Ruby: An Interactive Adventure, Shady Acres will be recreated in painstaking detail, then the viewers can explore the hotel, looking for clues to help them figure out who took Blanche's necklace."
However, because of this attention to detail, the film will be re-released August 2012.
