Studio Update: Two New Cool Things Coming Soon and Going 3-D?

Filming for Forest of Fear is continuing smoothly in Georgia, which brings us to another update.
The next Tales of the Adventurers is scheduled to come out next week, which takes the adventurers into an underwater shipwreck. What will they find? Find out in the comic. If you missed the previous comic, check it out now on the "Tales of the Adventurers" page on the Mustache Maniacs Film Co. website!
Also, many fans have been asking questions about happenings at the studio, whether it's about current projects, future projects, music selections, and the making of certain scenes. In response to this, Lego Studios is pleased to announce Ask Mark Matthew! Starting next month, the CEO of Lego Studios will answer questions from the fans. To send a question, just send your question on YouTube as a private message to YouTube user historylegoman. Then, come back here on August 1st to see if your question was picked!
Finally, word has gone around the studio that breakthroughs in brickfilm technology have allowed a proposal to be put up for consideration: to release Johnny Thunder and the Wisdom of the Ancients in 3-D! "All of the other studios are doing it, and brickfilms are starting to be released in 3-D (Ye Giants of Olde was the first). Even the sequel to America: Outlawed, named Ghost Town, may be released in 3-D. So it seems only inevitable that we would jump on the bandwagon, so to speak."
However, this is only a possibility. Director Steven Lawrence noted, "Filming for Johnny Thunder and the Wisdom of the Ancients will begin this fall, which means that we must have the necessary tools by then. If we don't, the film will have to be in 2-D. Regardless, we will eventually begin to make films in 3-D. Therefore, I would like people to start getting pairs of red/cyan 3-D glasses, preferably the LEGO Atlantis 3-D glasses, for this development. I don't recommend crossed-eyed 3-D because it has never worked for me and it's bad for your health." To get started, Here is a list of places that Steven recommended for getting LEGO Atlantis 3-D diving glasses.
  • You can get them for free through LEGO.com's customer service, though supplies are limited.
  • Some 2010 LEGO Atlantis sets contain pairs of 3-D glasses, but these have been discontinued.
  • One pair comes in the January/February issue of LEGO Club Magazine. However, you will have to buy this one on eBay.
  • Individual pairs can be bought on Bricklink. Be sure to find the cheapest.
  • Also, you should be able to find pairs sold individually or in bulk on eBay.
"The reason we are using the red/cyan glasses," said animal trainer Seth Corman, "is because YouTube supports that type of 3-D. Don't worry, though. If 3-D gives you a headache, you can always pull up the controls on the player and set it for 2-D."
However, Forest of Fear, which comes out October 7th, 2011, will not be in 3-D, since it is not being filmed in a manner that would allow 3-D to work properly. If Johnny Thunder and the Wisdom of the Ancients is in 3-D when it is released summer 2014, it will be a major leap ahead for the studio.
Update: Johnny Thunder and the Wisdom of the Ancients will NOT be in 3-D.
