Studio Update: One Week to Go...

The excitement is building in the fan community for the Johnny Thunder films: they only have to wait 7 days until the release of Johnny Thunder and the Gift of the Nile! "We ran into a snag with a portion of the film at the beginning of the month, forcing us to re-edit act 3. We thought the release might be delayed, but it's now taken care of for the release on July 16th. We can certainly say that, even though we ran into a few mishaps along the way, we managed to pull through it all and get the film released," said director Steven Lawrence.
However, not all of the projected release days survived the storm. "We're going to have to indefinitely delay the release of Forest of Fear," said boom operator Sarah Williamson. "The crew is already in Georgia to begin filming the movie, but the storyboards aren't ready yet. What's worse is that information got out that there would be the ghost of a Ku Klux Clansman in the movie. People took offense to that, and we had to write him out of the script." Key grip Sam Reynolds continued, "Also, the writer feels the current ending falls flat on its face. As a result, he's rewriting that too to make it scarier." As a result, the film may not come out until early 2011. "But we can all look at it this way. With the new projected release date, it gives the audience further anticipation and gives us more time to promote the film," stated Mark Matthew, head of the Lego Studios Board of Directors.
Despite this, the new toys at the Cafe Corner are doing surprisingly well. "I must say that I am impressed with these sales," said Mark Matthew. "I'm guessing their success is in part because some of the toys are based on the first film, which gives characters and locations people can already identify with. Let's hope the new Johnny Thunder and the Gift of the Nile temporary exhibit at the museum gets the same reception." The new temporary exhibit will open on July 16th, 2010. A photo tour of the exhibit will be posted on July 18th.
