'Wonders of Buoyancy' gets Honorable Mention by Physics Tutor and Festival of Souls 2 Results!

By: Andrew Bermudez (Lego Studios; November 28, 2011)      While making an overview of the studio's films featured online, it came to the attention of the board of directors that on October 18th, 2011, SPM Physics made an honorable mention of Wonders of Buoyancy (to see the honorable mention, a link to their website, and other content on their YouTube blog, follow this link: http://www.youtube.com/social/blog/physics4spm ). In reaction to this development, Lego Studios CEO Mark Matthew stated, "We always strive for the best in storytelling, education, animation, and excitement in our films, and to see one of them used as a demonstration video for a physics class is easily one of our most monumental achievements since the FDNY e-mailed us a compliment for Worcester Cold Storage Warehouse Fire ." Scriptwriter Peter Samuel added, "This at least assures me that I got all of the facts right!"      Also, the results are in for Fes...

All New Ask Mark Matthew!

By: Andrew Bermudez (Lego Studios; November 12, 2011)      Today, we bring you another 'Ask Mark Matthew,' containing 100% new material! Let's get started! HollywoodLego writes : "Johnny Thunder and the Gift of the Nile Part 7" has been taken down off your channel! Is there any way to get it back? Mark : When this was first alerted to us, we mistakenly let this issue go to the back burner, so to speak. However, after numerous complaints, we decided to take action. To answer your question, yes. We can and will bring it back later this month. However, the music that caused it to be removed in the first place will be taken out. In its place will be some generic Egyptian music. After this and other necessary alterations, part 7 will make its triumphant return! Stay tuned, Mustache Maniacs Film Co. fans! (Sorry. I got a little caught up in the moment there.) lowvillainRoblox writes : Dude, Johnny Thunder's pants are fully black. Not tan with pockets. ...

A Robber will Fumble this Holiday Season!

By: Andrew Bermudez (Lego Studios; November 11, 2011)      For Veteran's Day this year, more news has surfaced! This news in particular is for an all-new film, coming this Winter. Titled Seeing Eye Robber , this film (an animatic, actually) will recount the most embarrassing trip-up of Ralph Vagabond, the World's worst criminal. This status was mainly brought upon him because he has generally bad eyesight and his glasses don't match his eye's focal length! Find out what happens to this incompetent swindler when the film is released on December 9th, 2011.      Speaking of that date, the other films slated for release that date, A Battle to Remember and Gone Ice Fishin' are just about ready to go. A Battle to Remember is actually all done and Gone Ice Fishin' just needs some animation work. Then, both films will be released with Seeing Eye Robber on December 9th. Two days before, they will all be shown in a major media event th...

One Thing Ends and Another Thing Starts.

By: Andrew Bermudez (Lego Studios; November 3, 2011)      Today, something very important happened. After a few false starts, the filming for Johnny Thunder and the Wisdom of the Ancients has officially started! The short sequence that takes place in Ancient Egypt is the only thing done so far, but the 3-year shoot is sure to be successful. The film will be released Summer 2014.      Yet, when one thing starts, other things must end. Ironically, the same day Johnny Thunder and the Wisdom of the Ancients started filming, the studio announced that, later this month, the Johnny Thunder Franchise Fan Page on Facebook will be disbanded. "It's just that nobody visits it anymore," said Lego Studios CEO Mark Matthew. "It's also too narrow in scope. While our Johnny Thunder films get all of this extra attention, our other films get left out of the equation, so to speak." Therefore, also later this month, the Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Facebook page...

By: Andrew Bermudez (Lego Studios; November 1, 2011)      November has just arrived, little kids are enjoying their Halloween candy, Festival of Souls 2 is now over, and it's time for another Studio Update! Let's get started!      It has been confirmed that filming for Johnny Thunder and the Wisdom of the Ancients will begin on November 3rd! The cast and crew are currently setting up in Egypt to film the movie's prologue. "Even though the film does not take place in Egypt, this shot will certainly help set the mood for the film," said director Steven Lawrence. "Actually, the prologue for this film is like the prologues for the first two Johnny Thunder films combined. It starts with an ancient tale and concludes with a murder." The prologue is set to finish filming by the end of the year.      Also, the release dates for the next Tales of the Adventurers and Gone Ice Fishin' have been set back. The next Tales of...

'Forest of Fear' has Arrived!

Image
By: Andrew Bermudez (Lego Studios; October 21, 2011)      After a long 2-year development period (unusually long for an 18-minute film), Forest of Fear has finally been released. At the premiere, the cast and crew was in attendance, as well as invited VIPs. Among these VIPs was the original director, Barry Hallows. Before going in, he got a picture with the film's final director, Seth Masterson. Afterwards, he declared that he loved the movie. "This was just a wonderful movie, with all of the monsters, colorful characters, and great ending. I can certainly say that this may be one of the best films I've seen this Halloween season," said Barry. "Even though we're sad to not have Barry direct the film, the input that he gave during development is what I give credit to for making this film the way it is today," said Lego Studios CEO Mark Matthew.      Now that Forest of Fear has been released and submitted into Festival of Souls 2, it is now...

Studio Update: A Big and Busy Fall Season is Here!

By: Andrew Bermudez (Lego Studios; October 8, 2011)      Even though Fall technically started back in September, the studio's planned fall season has arrived! Besides the main focus of this season, which is Forest of Fear , the studio also has plans for at least one major project each month. Here is the Fall (and Holiday) line-up for the remaining three months of the year:      October: October kicked off with the release of Freddy and Joey in Corn Farm (Animatic) . During this month, on the 21st, the film everyone is excited about, Forest of Fear , will make its debut. However, because it is being released for the Festival of Souls 2 contest, all parts of the film will be released simultaneously. Also this month, two more Tales of the Adventurers comics will be released.      November: Next, things will begin to feel colder. At least, our November (or, should I say Novemburr) film will. Titled Gone Ice Fishin' , thi...
