By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; April 7, 2025)     We've been busy with a gusty whirlwind of work lately, but we do have some news to share! And with our most recent release, that whirlwind was more like a sandstorm! Let's jump right in! Sand: The Movie : An April Fool's Day Joke About Nothing was Released!     In case you missed it, April Fool's Day was back on this past Tuesday. And as is the tradition around here, we couldn't resist getting in on the fun! So, how did we follow up on the AI-generated travesty that was Atlanta Nights ? Simple: we released Sand: The Movie , a film that promises to uncover the secrets of the shifting sands, but in actuality, literally nothing happens. Officially, it's our first-ever spin-off of a spin-off of a spin-off, itself alluding to the nature of the joke. And while the joke lies in the fact that it's basically a non-film, it was still directed and designed to be as visually interesting as...

By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; April 1, 2023)     Recently, during a thorough cataloging of the studio archives, we stumbled upon a previously-lost film reel simply titled "New Friends CFO Edition - Don't Let Director Raul Flores Know!!!". We've analyzed it, digitized the content, and restored the film. Now, we have some big news to share! New Friends: CFO Edition  Has Been Released!     Standing for Chief Financial Officer, this CFO Edition of New Friends ~ An Environmental Fable  was commissioned by former LEGO Studios CFO Rawlin N. Dough, who was sacked back in the summer of 2013 for unnecessarily stalling production for A Bite of MyJobs , who argued that the film was a money drain that had no purpose outside of College of the Canyons and threatened to tear up the film's contract (either that, or it had to do with how he was caught embezzling money at the same time).     However, after months of sorting thro...

Did That Film Look Familiar? April Fools!      Ha! We got you! On top of that, even the music and sound effects were recycled from our other fil...

By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; April 1, 2020)      What was that? Was today's announcement something from a nightmare induced by spoiled pizza? April Fools! Rap-Trick  is not our new film direction! Read on for more information. April Fools!      If you read everything from our press release earlier today, discard that information, because that was one big April Fool's Day joke! Rap-Trick  is not our new film direction, and Patrick: The Movie  is still in development for release at a later time. "We love pulling off elaborate April Fools jokes for our fans around here," said LEGO Studios CEO Mark Matthew. "And after the success of our LEGO Dimensions joke from 2017, we wondered how we could top ourselves. Most April Fools jokes surround promising something desirable for the public that will never actually become available, due to a multitude of reasons, but we decided to put a fun spin on that. What ...

By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; April 1, 2017)      April Fools! Did you seriously think that our films are coming to LEGO Dimensions? On the contrary, there's talk that the game may not even have a year 3 (though we're not in on the loop about that one, so we can't say anything for certain). As for the expansion packs featured, those were all faked just for the joke. If you want a behind the scenes look at the prank, just watch the latest episode of Backstage Showcase . We've embedded it below for your convenience.      Moving on to serious business, we are implementing some new branding changes around our network, which we started implementing earlier this week. Mainly, network-wide graphics are being synchronized to a new sense of uniformity. In addition to this, unnecessary blocks of text will be eliminated on the Mustache Maniacs Film Co. website, among other things. Here's what else is changing: The styles fo...

By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; April 1, 2017)      It's been a long time coming, but we're now ready to reveal our latest and largest partnership to date! Read on, because it's going to be great!      Mustache Maniacs Film Co. has fostered numerous partnerships over the past several years, including the authors of the DINO ATTACK RPG, CarTOON Shack, and many others. Today, we are pleased to announce our biggest partnership yet: Warner Bros. Games, in order to bring our fan-favorite characters to the popular toys-to-life game LEGO Dimensions, among many others from outside our library of films. We have now been given express permission to showcase the next wave of expansion packs and what it has to offer. These all-new year 3 expansion packs will work with the existing game and all year 1 and year 2 packs, creating an even wider array of wild combinations.      Releasing this August are ten new packs tha...

By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; April 1, 2016)      April Fool's! If you didn't catch on to our previous press release, we are not actually joining YouTube Red. On the contrary, we don't have enough of a presence on YouTube for us to even be considered for the service. No one even shops in our store, so it seems like a waste on our part, at least that's how we see it.      We were not able to finish the latest "Journey to Siberia" comic on time, but we do have some great (and truthful) news: the remainder of Alpha Team: Mission Deep Jungle is all ready to go! On Sunday, the last part will be released as an advance preview for Facebook fans only. Everyone else will be able to see the last part starting April 8.      Happy April Fool's Day! How did you prank other people today? Let us know in the comments.

By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; April 1, 2016)      Today, we have some exciting news to share! Let's get started and see what we have in store!      You've probably been using YouTube for a long time now, so you might be familiar with the up-charge service titled YouTube Red. In general, for $9.99 a month, you can access a wide variety of special features, including: Watch all videos ad-free. Save videos to watch off-line. Play videos in the background. Watch original shows and content from YouTube creators. That last bullet might intrigue you the most, because that states that, by signing up for YouTube Red, you'll have access to content from some of YouTube most prolific creators. It's similar to how Netflix, Hulu, and other streaming services have their own exclusive content. Today, we are happy to announce that Mustache Maniacs Film Co. is joining that line-up of creators, with all of our future movies beco...

By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; April 1, 2015)      Ha! We got you! If you read our studio update from this morning, you might have caught on to our April Fool's Day jokes for this year. The Film That Changes Everything! did not reveal anything about Mustache Maniacs Film Co.'s cinematic universe, even though the film is officially considered canon. We will not be making a series of films based on BZPower's DINO Attack RPG. While we do plan on changing the URL for our YouTube Channel, we have no plans to beta test some of the new features, like cards.      Did you have fun this April Fool's Day? What jokes did you pull this year? Let us know in the comments, and don't forget to sign up for Project U auditions! You can find the audition form here .

By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; April 1, 2015)      Another month has started, and that means more updates! Let's get started!      After just a few month's preparation, our most epic film to date, The Film That Changes Everything! , is now out! It may only be about 30 seconds long, but it'll blow your mind! If you haven't seen it yet, you can watch it here .      In other news, we have a new, post-Project U film series to announce! That's right, we're talking about beyond 2020 here, and it's going to be spectacular! While we do have other films in the early planning stages slated for that time, what we really want to talk about is a new movie series based upon BZPower's DINO Attack Role Playing Game! Just like the upcoming comics DINO Attack: Saga of a Conflict , this movie series will cover the entire story from beginning to end, and it's going to be great! As it is in the early planning stages at the m...

By: Andrew Bermudez (LEGO Studios; April 1, 2014)      Today we bring you another 'Ask Mark Matthew,' containing 100% new material! Let's get started! Automated Question Generator writes: What is the answer to today's April Fool's Day prank? Mark: Of the three announcements, the only one that is legitimate is...the "blind bag" characters. They will be available in the fall along with the sets based on Forest of Fear and Attack of the Fifty-Foot Hamster . However, there are some things to mention in regard to the two "April Fool's" announcements. First, we are NOT bringing back Com 50. On the contrary, because of issues and a general lack of online popularity (even though the award trivia is true), we are cancelling the re-release of Com 50-3: Raid on Central Island . In addition, the re-release of Jolly Roger and the Pirate Queen will still continue, but the interactive elements will be dropped. Again, this is because of issues and a ...

By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; April 1, 2014)      As spring break wears on, there has been lots of activity here at the studio, including the fixing and 3-D conversion of Johnny Thunder and the Secret of Marco Polo . So, we would like to announce some new developments. Let's get started!      First off, we are pleased to announce that we will be rebooting the Com 50 saga! "Back when they were first created, the Com 50 trilogy received tremendous praise," said Mustache Maniacs Film Co. CEO Andrew Bermudez. "In fact, at The Second Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Fan Choice Awards , Com 50 and 007  won for best re-release, proving their popularity to this day." Just like the original films, this reboot will be created in live action. Andrew continued, "This diversification will get us back into the live action business, adding yet another project that fans can look forward to in addition to the ten Project U films." The fir...

By: Andrew Bermudez (Lego Studios; April 3, 2012)        Today, we bring you another 'Ask Mark Matthew,' containing 100% new material! Let's get started! A Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Fan writes:  O.k. I'm game. Which three projects from your last press release are April Fool's jokes? Mark:  We will not be resurrecting   The Adventures of Legoman   or   Freddy and Joey in the Duck and the Strawberries . Also, interestingly enough,   Blaze in the Woods   was just a joke too. While this means the rest of the projects are actually being developed, they will not actually happen until they've been formally announced in this press room. LegoKingdomHearts278 writes:  I loved the action sequence [in   Johnny Thunder and the Secret of Marco Polo ] when Lord Sinister attempts to "finish off" Johnny Thunder in the sky. I can picture the horror of Patrick just hanging on for dear life as the plane is flying around th...

By: Andrew Bermudez (Lego Studios; April 1, 2012)      Today, instead of a usual news update, we'll give you a peek at our development department and show you a little about what we are planning for 2012 - 2014. Be cautious, though, and remember what today is. Three of these projects are mere pranks! Be sure to write in the comments which three project you think are April Fool's jokes. With that aside, let's begin.      It's already 2012, but we still have a lot planned for later this year. Currently, we already have all of this year's From the Vaults re-releases announced on their respective page on the website. The reason why we only have one re-release in the Fall is because we're gearing up for new films to be released. The previously-announced CGI animation has been slated to be released at this time, along with more traditional animation and a THAC 10 entry. Also in the works is a revival of a long-canceled Freddy and Joey episode, now marginal...
