One Month to Go Before the Release of "Patrick: The Movie!"

Image
By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; November 25, 2020)     Thanksgiving may be tomorrow, but we do have something to be thankful for: our last film for the year, Patrick: The Movie , is only a month away from its release! We're in the process of completing the last stages of production, which currently leaves the cast and crew working on the film's super-secret ending, which we cannot talk about further here. After that, we'll be filming on one last set, which will bring us to the end of production. Because of today's celebration, here's some new information that we can share with you right now! The Official Theatrical Poster for Patrick: The Movie  is Here!      While it was officially released this past weekend for this week's Wiki Mondays updates, we now have an official poster for the film! This poster captures the film's setting, as well as an over-the-top spooky atmosphere. While the film won't be this spooky, it is tru...

Studio Update: Another Delay Roundup

Image
By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; April 12, 2019)      Why wasn't Wonder's of Buoyancy re-released as scheduled today? The answer to that and more is all in today's update! "Wonders of Buoyancy" Delayed to April 19, 2019!      While we do have this remastered educational classic ready to go, we've decided to delay it by one week to commemorate our fifteenth anniversary. This highly-honored movie (which has been used by teachers as an authoritative educational film in the past) is perfect for celebrating our anniversary next week, so we are pushing it back to make this anniversary a most noted one. However, because of this change, we have some bad news for you all. "A Friend of the Police" Re-Release Indefinitely Delayed!      Because we are nowhere near ready to present this returning film to the world, we are delaying this re-release to an undetermined date later this year. We are still scouting fa...

The fan favorite holiday special A Very Patrick Christmas  gets its turn now, with a full re-release happening this Friday! The film will still have the same charm that it had before, but now with even more spectacle added on to compliment the story! We also changed a couple lines to firmly establish the film's place in the official cinematic universe and added a stinger after the end credits! This new film also...

All Release Dates Put On Hold as "Journey to Siberia" Concludes!

Image
By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; October 26, 2018)      We have some surprising-sort of-news for today, so let's get right into it! Last "Journey to Siberia" Comic Released!      It was announced earlier this year that, due to a restructuring of our resources, Crazyhouse Comics would be shuttered and that both ongoing comics series, Journey to Siberia  and DINO ATTACK: Saga of a Conflict , would be ended prematurely, with proper send offs. Today, we've wrapped up one of those comics properly: Journey to Siberia 's last page was just released, which you can read for yourself on the respective web page on our website . This chronicle concludes with the events that kick off the plot of A Very Patrick Christmas , which in turn is currently being reworked to tie directly back to the comics. But that's not all! New "Journey to Siberia" Poster!      To commemorate the ending of this series, Journey t...

More Re-Releases and More to Come in 2019 and Beyond!

By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; September 16, 2018)      We have some interesting news to share today, so let's get right into it! More Films to be Re-Released! While we acknowledge the importance of new films, which we are still making, we are also going in and continuing to re-release older films (2014 and before) for modern audiences! We've looked over the films that we have online, and many have issues ranging from formatting errors to unfinished elements. Because these films have varying levels of attention needed, we have three categories of films that we want to address, which will subsequently affect their release dates (this list does not include the already-announced re-releases and remakes), as well as a list of films that need no work. Also, bear in mind that this is only for CANON films, meaning that anything non-canon (like the Fan Choice Awards) is excluded. Category 00: Nothing Wrong (Objectively) - no need to ...

Patrick Hooligans Will Get His Own Movie on September 7!

Image
By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; July 4, 2018)      In the spirit of our Saharan Summer, we've just announced our own tale in the desert, and it's all about one of our most popular characters! "Patrick: The Movie" to be Released September 7!      As part of bricksinmotion.com's Movie Magic  contest, we're finally going to tell a tale that we've waited years to tell, and we're sure you're all going to love it!      If you don't remember Patrick's introduction in Johnny Thunder and the Secret of Marco Polo , he unknowingly takes Lord Sinister's frustration as a straight question and utters this line of dialogue: "Remember? You rescued us from that Egyptian tomb that we locked ourselves in a few days before. You rescued us while we finished eating our partner." Well, we are now ready to tell that tale of how Patrick entered Lord Sinister's gang in the one, the only, the spin-off eve...

"Tales of the Desert" Contest Begins!      It has been some time since we ran a proper contest (our last one was the unsuccessful The Canon that Time Forgot ), but we now have a new summer story contest for you to enter! It's titled Tales of the Desert , and it concerns writing a story set in any desert in the world! If your story wins, a prize pack inspired by  Pharaoh's Quest: The Curse of Amset-Ra  is up for grabs, along with an official place in the canonical timeline for your story! There's a lot of specific rules to go over, but everything that you need to know is in the contest video, embedded below. Remember to have your entry completed and submitted on or before September 3, 2018! Good luck and drink plenty of water! Poster Madness...

Our New Website is Live!

Image
By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; June 1, 2018)      If you have been following this press room recently, you've probably already heard about the complete overhaul of our website. Today, we want to share that our new website is open! This and more is in today's press release! Out New Website is Here!      Finally, after about a month of planning, designing, and testing, our new website is now officially online! Replacing the original Webs-hosted site, this new site hosted by Wix features more emphasis on visuals, content, and ease of access, making the website easier to navigate than ever before! Because we wanted to siphon out most of the text boxes and pages that distracted from our content, the following features have now been removed: What's New Change Log About Us Page (Now part of the Home page) Members Section (May be re-implemented in the future) Animation Reels Page Music Page (Scores now on appropriate...

"Pharaoh's Quest" Delayed to July 27! Our Brawl Entry is Coming July 15!

Image
By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; May 24, 2018)      Today, we have announced the final delay in the release of Pharaoh's Quest: the Curse of Amset-Ra . This, along with BRAWL, website, Poster Madness, and more are all here today! "Pharaoh's Quest" Delayed to July 27!      We had pondered the possibility of delaying this film that has fallen behind schedule again, but today, it is official: the release of  Pharaoh's Quest: The Curse of Amset-Ra  has been pushed off to July 27. "It's just that the film's not ready yet," said Mark Matthew, LEGO Studios CEO. "For some time, it looked like May 25 was a realistic date, but the unplanned website overhaul threw a wrench into our plans. Now, I shouldn't really say this in case something else crops up, but we believe that July 27 is a realistic date to release this film." To reflect this change, the official poster has been updated with the new release d...

Andrew Bermudez Art is Back! Let's Celebrate with a New Poster!

Image
By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; May 10, 2018)      We have some amazing news! Read on to find out what's going on! Andrew Bermudez Art is Back!      Like we mentioned two days ago, we decided that, after countless technical issues, we abandoned Webs in favor of Wix for hosting the Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Website. While that site is far from finished in its re-imagining, the portfolio website Andrew Bermudez Art is ready to go and published! While it is visually designed to look distinct from the Mustache Maniacs Film Co. website, this new portfolio website does give a sense of what the new website will look like when it's completed. Until then, you can look at the portfolio by clicking here . But that's not all! Space Attack Poster is Here!      Do you remember that short animation Space Attack  from 2011? If not, then this poster should remind you! It's our first poster in the Poster Madn...

Poster Madness Returns Soon!

Image
By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; May 8, 2018)      We have some very exciting news to share, which was just confirmed internally today! Let's get started! Poster Madness Returns!      If you were a fan back in 2015 and read this press room then, you might remember Poster Madness, our summer-long campaign to produce new posters for many of our older films. It was a wild success and gave an identity to several of our films. Now, because of the website overhaul that we announced yesterday, we are pleased to re-introduce Poster Madness, back for 2018!      To explain what we mean, here's a screenshot of what we are working on for the new site (on the right; we now have a dual-monitor setup). In the new site, visitors will click on each film's poster to access that film's page, which will contain much of the same content as before. As you can tell, this new design requires that each and every film that we...

Join the "Ninjago: Visions of Memories" Hype!

Image
By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; June 18, 2016)      Get ready to be psyched about our upcoming animated film Ninjago: Visions of Memories ! If you weren't hyped about it before, you will be after seeing the poster! It looks like the ninja have outdone the pirates that were dominating this month!      The poster's not final, as there's no composer or actors for Sensei Wu and Dareth attached to the project (so the credits have placeholders), but it does establish the look of the film. It's going to be really dark and dramatic! Surprisingly, there's already a MPAA rating for the film, among other things, including a peek at the movie's elaborate set, which we'll be featuring in a future post, as well as in this film's behind the scenes video. To talk about this film (or the Rebrick Ninjago contest in general) on social media, use the hashtag #LEGONINJAGOgreatestvillain to spread the word!      Spe...

Feast Your Eyes on the "Alpha Team: Mission Deep Jungle" Poster!

Image
By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; December 3, 2015)      As our Alpha Team Advent Calendar continues, we would like to share the poster for "Alpha Team: Mission Deep Jungle" by itself!      Like mentioned in the second day of the advent calendar, this poster was designed with a more professional and polished look to it. Another fun fact is that the ropes were painted in rather than photographed. This allowed more freedom in curving the ropes to create uniformity among them. As always, the Project U logo is at the bottom of the poster, though it's a lot less conspicuous now, as the bright yellow logo has the unintended side effect of being a visual magnet for the viewer's eye.

Studio Update: New Poster, New Canon, and the Official Canon Timeline!

Image
By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; August 4, 2015)      Tomorrow is the official announcement for the results for both The Quest for Canonization  and round 3 auditions, but before that, we have some news to share! Let's get started!      First, we would like to unveil a brand-new poster created for Poster Madness! It's for Com 50 and 007 , and it's one that shows the title characters together in a face-off against a Cal Pada Ninja as Shriff Aha evilly laughs.      In other news, we've updated a bit of canon with the entries for The Quest for Canonization  and more, as it came to light that two of our movies cannot coexist on the same timeline. So, here is what has been changed. Both entries for The Quest for Canonization , which are A Greater Cost  by Elizabeth Scarheart and Mystery in the Karoo  by Marcus Hutchinson, are now part of the cinematic universe. Check the timeline below...

"Our Good Neighbor" Has Been Cancelled!

Image
By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; July 2, 2015)      Just one day after submitting the script for review, we have some news that surprised even us. The upcoming Darkness and Light entry Our Good Neighbor  has been cancelled! How this came about was actually kind of funny, according to resident scriptwriter Peter Samuel. "Yesterday, I sent the script to the producers to see what they thought of it. They hated it so thoroughly, they scrawled several jokes on the cover, chanting 'Our good neighbor State Farm is there,' before throwing it in the trash. Getting back to business, they said that it had no substance and no plot." After taking a breath, he continued. "First, it's 'Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there,' second, I was following their orders to make an edgy script that fits into the cinematic universe."      This then brought up the elephant in the room: hating a script is no reason to cancel it. Respon...

Studio Updates: Project Delays Strike Again!

Image
By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; June 24, 2015)      June is almost over, and we thought that Alms Pouch  would be coming in the next few weeks. Now it's time for an update that explains why that won't be happening.      For the last few weeks, we've been moving to a brand-new location that gives us the flexibility to work on multiple films at once, something crucially needed for Project U. However, the process has been grueling and cumbersome, taking time from all of our projects, including the cleaning up of Alms Pouch  and the filming of Alpha Team: Mission Deep Jungle . Because of this, Alms Pouch  has a new release date: August 14, 2015. Here is the existing poster, altered to include the new date.      But, if you would like some good news, then we would like to announce that we have an anticipated release date for Alpha Team: Mission Deep Jungle : December 18, 2015! However, judging...

Our New Content Schedule!

Image
By: Andrew Bermudez      It's been busy here at the studio, with some news to share! Let's get started!      First, we would like to announce that we are introducing a brand-new, rigorous release schedule for all of our content. We are not allowed to deviate from it to any degree, as it will give fans the chance to expect certain content on certain days of the week. Here is what we have lined up. Wiki Mondays is returning June 15, 2015, with one new page being added every Monday. Major adjustments to wiki articles, including adding photos and changing descriptions, will also happen on Mondays. Tuesdays starting in August will introduce a brand-new series that will fill up the time between film releases: Between Takes Set Reviews . In this series, Andrew Bermudez will take short breaks from filming to review one LEGO set per week, covering new and old themes. Wednesdays will introduce Photo of the Week  on the press room. Starting in July, on...

Studio Update: The State of Project U and Film Name Changes

Image
By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; May 30, 2015)      Today, we have some important announcements to make! Let's get started!      First, we would like to let you know that some of the Project U films have been re-named! It was a hard decision that has been lamenting since the beginning of the year, but the decision went ahead and has been implemented. "We were looking at our analytics and saw that our five most popular films, judged by lifetime viewership, are Forest of Fear , Worcester Cold Storage Warehouse Fire , Johnny Thunder and the Secret of Marco Polo , Johnny Thunder and the Gift of the Nile , and The Adventures of Legoman " said LEGO Studios CEO Mark Matthew. "According to our analytics page, most views come from suggested videos, which means that word selection is key to making sure that YouTube associates our films with as many other videos as possible. Yes, Team G.A.C.T.T.C.G.A.  may have been a cool name,...

Studio Update: New Poster, A Teaser, and May Updates!

Image
By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; May 13, 2015)      Kilroy Was Here! Month is still in full swing, but we would like to divert from it temporarily to bring you some news!      First, while we still have Kilroy Was Here! Month still on the brain, we are sad to say that we are going to have to cancel Saturday's reveal of Leo Pickford, as his character design cannot be finished between now and then. We may be able to whip up some concept art, but the actual finalized figure will have to wait. We will still be revealing the new  Private Corporal Joe Kilroy and Private Carl Ryder that day, though.      In other news, it's official now: Mustache Maniacs Film Co.: The Visual Dictionary - 2nd Edition  is coming December 2015! In anticipation of this update of the first edition, here is a first look at the cover for the new edition. To see what was changed, the original cover is just below it for compari...

Alms Pouch Has a Release Date and Other News!

Image
By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; May 8, 2015)      With the weekend in full swing and with Kilroy Was Here! Month already steadily progressing, we have some great news to share! Here's what has happened here over the past week.      First, we are pleased to announce that Alms Pouch  has an official release date! This short animated film will be released on July 10, right in the middle of the summer season. It may not have much, but it is sure to please. And while you wait, here is the official theatrical poster for the film, released today as part of Poster Madness.      However, the one film we really want out this year may not be a summer film after all. Because of where it is at in production, Alpha Team: Mission Deep Jungle  will have to be a fall or holiday film. "The one thing we need to ensure is that this film is out by the end of 2015," said LEGO Studios CEO Mark Matthew. "This year is...
