Studio Update: Welcome the Nexus Force's Newest Member

By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; July 4, 2014)      To celebrate America's Independence Day, we have just made several announcements at our Independence Day party. Some of it is good, some of it relates to delays, but it is all important and exciting nonetheless. Let's get started!      First, just a few days after the end of the Nexus Force Character Creation Sweepstakes, we have a winner: Marcus Hutchinson with his character Sairento Hato. Congratulations to Marcus for winning this contest; we are already working your character into the script for Legends of the Universe and we hope that you are excited to act in another one of our films.      Unfortunately, with good news there is also some bad news. Because of problems regarding the editing for Johnny Thunder and the Wisdom of the Ancients , the film's release date has been pushed back to August 22nd. However, to make up for this delay, a new trailer f...

Studio Update: Happy Summer, Johnny Thunder 3, Jolly Roger Re-Release, Central Florida, and More.

By: Andrew Bermudez (LEGO Studios; June 1, 2014)      For many, summer vacation has started, which means great news for our fan base: plenty of time to participate in our contests, watch our previous films, and anticipate the release of our upcoming films! With that, more news has surfaced about happenings here at the studio. Here we go!      First off, the filming for Johnny Thunder and the Wisdom of the Ancients  is almost done! "We have very little left to film," said director Steven Lawrence. "However, the huge set is taking forever to build. We're going to have to film on the other sets first for this last location before filming on the mega set." Filming is set to be completed by the middle of the month, with a planned release on July 18.      While filming is set to conclude right on schedule, editing is going to be tight. "Since this is a massive project, editing is taking longer than we hoped. Fortunately, we haven't ha...

Studio Update: "Johnny Thunder 3" to Finish Filming in May, Global Explorations Details, and The State of "Project U"

By: Andrew Bermudez (LEGO Studios; April 24, 2014)      Tomorrow is the fifth anniversary of the release of The Adventures of Legoman , so to commemorate this event, here is a look at what has been happening around the studio lately.      To start things off, we have very good news: we have gotten word that the film crew for Johnny Thunder and the Wisdom of the Ancients  will be finishing the Machu Picchu scenes this weekend, after which the action sequence on the Urubamba River will be shot. In fact, according to director Steven Lawrence, "it looks like the film's production will come to a close by the end of May. After we leave Peru, we only have one more location to go to, and that won't take long at all. A lot has happened since filming started in November 2011." With a tight post-production schedule, it looks like the film's release on July 18 will be a photo finish, so to speak.      Because of this tight sc...

Studio Update: Filming Update, What's Going on With "Gone Ice Fishin'," and More

By: Andrew Bermudez (Lego Studios; February 17, 2012)      From filming a global adventure to animating a passionate polar bear, there has been a lot happening at Lego Studios! Here is an overview of what's been going on recently.      Due to some technical difficulties, the filming for Johnny Thunder and the Wisdom of the Ancients was stalled for a week. Tom Gifford, the best boy for the movie noted, "Before we started filming the cafe scene, I must have wired one of the lights wrong because, when I turned it on, it started flickering like a disco ball. We tried to digitally work around it, but it was too much work. However, I seized the moment with some drinks I bought at the bar. That's how you get a party started! Whoops. Did I say that aloud?"      After Tom Gifford was fired, assistant director Barry Hollows finished with, "I would just like to remind everyone that this issue has been resolved, and we ...

Vacation Update: Home, Sweet Home

Image
By: Andrew Bermudez (Daniel and Andrew's House; July 24, 2009)      Yesterday, the Bermudez's 6-week long vacation came to a close. Even though the vacation was cut short by three days due to bad weather, they still had a wonderful time. Here are the details on the last days of the vacation.      Day 38: Today we drove on to the Gateway Arch in St. Louis. Here we visited the underground Jefferson National Expansion Memorial, which featured a museum about westward expansion. The entire complex, especially the arch, was very clean and impressive. Pity the same cannot be said about the rest of St. Louis. For the night, we stopped in Independence, MO.      Day 39: Today we went into Independence. First, we visited the Truman Presidential Library. It featured all sorts of different artifacts, including the famous "The Buck Stops Here" sign. Afterwards we walked around town before a storm scared us back to our hotel. Oh b...

Vacation Update: Starting Back Home

Image
By: Andrew Bermudez (Litchfield Holiday Inn; July 18, 2009)      With only one week left, the Bermudez Family is now starting to head back home. This final week they are mostly driving and contemplating all the awesome sights they have seen.      Day 32: Today we viewed yet another battlefield: Antietam. We drove the battlefield while listening to an audio presentation. It really brought the experience to life. We closed the day at the Gettysburg KOA with Chipper, our friendly cabin chipmunk.      Day 33: We begun our day with Chipper's friend flinging seeds at us from above. Luckily he was a bad shot, but seemed to enjoy himself anyway as he chuckled menacingly. Guess where we headed today? Those who said Gettysburg Battlefield would be accurate. How did you know? When the brochures tell you how amazing the place is, believe it. We ended the day tired, but enjoyed every minute of it.      Day 34...
