LegoHubTv writes: How many people have registered [for The Film School Challenge] yet? Mark: Now that registration has now ended, we have a total of five participants. The standardized set-up for the contest required seven people, but we're working on a way to change it for the five people. MRlegobuilder987 writes: Great! You see, even though Remember the Alamo was filmed all the way back in 2005, it was never edited together until now, so this film straddles the gray area between release and re-release; it's old, but this is the first time it was ever released. By: Andrew Bermudez (LEGO Studios; January 22, 2013)      With work continuing on Johnny Thunder and the Wisdom of the Ancients , New Friends ~ An Environmental Fable , and Zoo Flight , the next "From the Vaults" re-release was unveiled in a recent teaser for The Film School Challenge . While Seth Masterson was looking for the old LEGO Studios movies, he uncovered something else that caught his eye: footage from the never-released animated film, Remember the Alamo . With plans to clean it up with the Adobe Creative Suite, he expects to have the film finished for release sometime in the spring. "The film tells the story of the Battle of the Alamo," said Seth Masterson. "While it is very crude, I plan to make it look as professional as possible."      However, what is interesting here is that it will be a "From the Vaults" release, even though it has never been released until now. However, we are looking at ways to prevent this in the future. First, as mentioned in the past, we now compose all of our own music. Second, to make older films available entirely, we are currently tossing around the idea of releasing download-able versions on the website. Robert Teabing was a girl? Mark: Yes and no. The character Robert Teabing is male, but voice actor Teresa Bermudez is female. This happened because of several issues with voice actors flaking out, others ending up in other roles, and subsequent re-castings. In the end, one man was played by a woman (Robert Teabing) and one woman was played by a man (Jing Lee). Now, because of this chaotic casting, we have a strict policy about a voice actor playing someone opposite to their sex. The policy states: "If it shall be necessary, an actor can only perform as a character of the opposite biological sex of this actor in question if and only if that actor in question is able to perform to such a degree that their performance allows them to convincingly portray their opposite biologic...

"This is our first film to initially be released in 3-D," stated LEGO Studios CEO Mark Matthew. "From now on, all of our upcoming films will have the option to watch them in 3-D. Just remember that you'll need red/cyan 3-D glasses to watch any of our films in 3-D." Of course, 3-D will only be available on the actual feature films and any games. After all, why would you want to see a behind the scenes reel in 3-D? That may sound cool, but the extra effort seems wasted. Back to the film, be sure to watch it today! How will you get there? While this wait is about to end, a new contest for 2013 was unveiled. There was some debate on whether to announce this contest so early, but since it ties directly into the Vacation: Unlimited Scrapbook Contest prize, an unveiling was deemed necessary at this time.      Coming in 2013, following the end of Vacation: Unlimited, is a brand-new contest titled The Film School Challenge . This contest challenges contestants to use their animation skills to meet certain challenges and advance through the stages. After six rounds, only one contestant will be left standing!      What makes this contest so unusual is that it is organized more like a game show/reality show crossover than a traditional contest.
