Archive Collections: A Collection of Archive Collections

(Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; December 21, 2014)
Here we are. We're now at the last edition of Archive Collections. Over the past year, we've released twelve editions of Archive Collections, each one detailing different props, animation cells, art pieces, screenshots, and more artifacts from our archives. By using these artifacts, we've reflected back on the first ten years and all that we had done. Now that Archive Collections has ended, let's take a look at all that we covered. Click on the name of each post to read the full edition.
In this collection of fifteen deleted scenes, we look over what could have appeared in Mustache Maniacs Film Co.'s movies, from the original opening to Johnny Thunder and the Secret of Marco Polo to a song that was cut from Kilroy Was Here!.
When Indiana Jones and the Secret of the Leopard's Treasure was re-released online, the day was commemorated with a look at some of the props from the said film, with facts about each one. For example, some facts about the whip pictured were featured, including what the tip used to have.
While the re-release of Com 50-3: Raid on Central Island was ultimately cancelled, an entire post about the gadgets that Com 50 used was still released, which featured everything he used in the four Com 50 films, including his pistol and his ID. Well, almost everything; Com 50's teleporter remote was excluded, as we do not have a photo of it available.
As we return to traditional animation next year, we reflected back on all of the traditional animation that we made through the years with animation cells, like this cell from Freddy and Joey Teaser.
To tease the then-upcoming release of Johnny Thunder and the Wisdom of the Ancients, a look at how a character's design can evolve over the course of a film's development was given. As an example, concept art for the plant monster that appears in Johnny Thunder and the Wisdom of the Ancients was shared.
As we have used many cameras in the past ten years, we decided to give an overview of every single camera that we used, from the LEGO Studios Webcam to the Microsoft LifeCam 1080p HD. We also had some fun stories to share about each one.
Characters are a major part of Mustache Maniacs Film Co., so we gave a look at the original character concept art from a wide variety of Mustache Maniacs Film Co. movies, from the nasty Rude Family to some new characters for Attack of the Fifty-Foot Hamster.
Gathered in one place for the first time was every single Ask Mark Matthew that had been published up until August 2014. This edition even featured links to each post.
We were short on ideas in August, so we decided to cover a variety of hats from different Mustache Maniacs Film Co. movies. It featured a mix of screenshots, animation cells, and prop images, like this M.P.'s helmet from Kilroy Was Here!.
Requested by popular demand, this edition of Archive Collections featured many of the food items that were served at the world premiere of Johnny Thunder and the Wisdom of the Ancients, including this rice cake recreation of Stonehenge.
Storyboards are an important part of making any film, and this Archive Collections showcased some highlights from our storyboard archive. Some of the highlights included rough storyboards for Gone Ice Fishin' and color storyboards for An Afternoon at the Zoo. This was the first time either was shared with the public.
To wrap up Archive Collections, we shared our favorite moments from Mustache Maniacs Film Co. movies throughout the years, all organized in chronological order. It included moments that were shocking, spectacular, memorable, or just plain hilarious. Each moment was accompanied by a screenshot of the moment in question.
And that brings us to now, where we now officially end Archive Collections. Will we share more from our archives in the future? Of course, as there was so much we weren't able to cover, including location concept art, unused props for live action, and tons of promotional artwork. Even Storyboard Madness was extremely incomplete, as we excluded storyboards for Johnny Thunder and the Secret of Marco Polo, Forest of Fear used scenes, and A Bite of MyJobs. However, in the coming years, we'll be focusing on Project U and other short films. However, if the opportunity arises, we're more than happy to share more content. But until then, thank you for reading Archive Collections and happy holidays!
