Release Dates Are Doing the Bunny Hop!

(Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; March 20, 2024)

Today, the re-release of Mustache Maniacs Film Co.: The Music Album just debuted on the website, but that's not the only thing going on today. We're also here to announce that several release dates are being moved around...again. Here's what has changed.

The Fourth Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Fan Choice Awards is Now Releasing on March 31!

In a move to maintain quality control but also to send off the month, the newest awards show has been bumped back by just a week. We have a lot planned for this show, including a massive announcement, so we want the show to look its best! We hope to see you at the red carpet on Easter Sunday!

The Holy Land Paragon Has Been Delayed to 2026!

In a big upset to our line-up for this year, The Holy Land Paragon has been delayed to sometime in 2026, mainly due to narrative issues. A decision was recently made on how to tackle the narrative in light of the recent events in the Middle East (where the book takes place) in a respectful way to all parties, but this direction would take the book down a VERY controversial road. Because of the need to weigh all of our options related to this book and to world events, this delay will give us the opportunity to give the story a closer look. A final decision and release date will be announced after the conclusion of Twenty Years Young. In the meantime, since this opens up a November release slot...

Tales Across the World: A Short Story Collection is Now Releasing on November 8!

This book is one project that we're very excited about, since it aims to flesh out the cinematic universe in bold new ways! The only problem is that the book has fallen behind schedule, so this delay will compensate for this lost time. More authors are currently being sought after to finish the book's lineup of stories. This move will also ensure that we have something new to share in November, which is currently without any new releases.

A Future in the Past is Now Releasing on August 16!

Just like Tales Across the World, this time-travel tale has also fallen behind schedule, not least because a portion of the footage was recently lost. We want this film to look good, so we're giving it the time it needs to look its best. The scenes taking place in the old west will begin filming in April.

Alms Pouch: Finished At Last! is Now Releasing on June 28!

A bump forward in release? It's true! We didn't want these two films to conflict with one another by having them release on the same day, so this reimagined film is going to help kick off the summer!

Changing Release Dates, Aging Characters, and the Official Canon: How We're Keeping Character Ages in Check Going Forward

With all of these changes in release dates, one topic of discussion that came up recently was about realistically aging the characters. For context, the different projects' events as they happen in the cinematic universe are usually locked into the years that they're released, with only a few exceptions. In the past, this wasn't an issue when character backstories weren't completely ironclad. Now, however, the characters are starting to reach...more advanced ages. We have an internal rule regulating character ages, and while we could in theory have a character unceremoniously die off-screen due to old age, we have decided to take an alternative route to solve this issue. We are now employing what TV Tropes calls "Webcomic Time," where the project's year of release does not correspond to the year that the project's events are said to have happened. For example, Legends of the Universe is currently set for 2030 as its release and the year of that story's events. Should the project get delayed, that film will still take place in the year 2030, no exceptions. Next month, the canon will be updated with the final in-story years for all upcoming projects, which will then no longer be updated.

All Other Release Dates Still on Track!

As of right now, all release dates that have not been mentioned here are still on track for their announced release dates. Should these change at any time in the future, we will let you know throughout our network.
