One Year On from 2/1/21: What's Still Coming, What's Scheduled for this Year, and What's Delayed?

(Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; February 1, 2022)

Unbelievably, it has been just one year since we revealed our upcoming 9-year plan. Well, how have those plans fared and what has shifted? All of the details are below, including expected release dates for all of our 2022 films!

Camel: The Movie is Still Releasing on April 1!

Last month, we mentioned that there was internal conflict over the release date of Camel: The Movie. Now, we are happy to report that a compromise has been reached that will still allow the film to be released on April 1! Filming is ready to begin, with film crews already on set to begin shooting this week! We're expecting this shoot to last only this month, with the film set over several quick scenes that will be easy to film!

Tale of Ulysses is Anticipating a Release on July 3, 2022!

We aren't 100% confident on this release date, since it could change based on BRAWL 2022's occurrence, but we are fairly confident that this is when BRAWL 2022 will occur based on past years. Besides, what better way to celebrate America's Independence Day than with a bit of Americana? We're going to be looking back at the past of Ulysses S. Powell, before he saw the barrel fly, before he built the Mega Wing, before he traveled backwards and forwards through time, and before he began working as an assistant to Dr. Cyber. This film will be a classic western based on LEGO's Wild West sets, but with a story that sets up a plot revelation in A Future in the Past that will also pay respect to 2020's inclusion statement.

Speeder is Anticipating a Release on September 2, 2022!

While part of our commitment to reviving older projects with a modern twist, Speeder is actually going to be independent of any competition, instead acting as our tentpole film for 2022! Unlike the other revived projects, this film is actually going to use all of the pre-production assets from this film's original incarnation, including the script, storyboards, shot lists, and more! Film will be conducted in June and July because, like Camel: The Movie, this film uses several quick scenes that will be easy to film!

Alms Pouch: Finished At Last! is Anticipating a Release on November 18, 2022!

At last, this long-overdue remake of Alms Pouch has a release time frame! We're going to commit to this release this time, with the film beginning its reanimating in late spring. Most of the original files are going to be reused, but with new design choices and more fluid animation accentuating this heart-felt story of love, loss, and one clumsy burglar!

What About 2023?

While we are expecting 2022 to be a fairly quiet year for us, with our biggest release of the year simply being a resurrected film from cancelation that itself is based on a lost pre-formation LEGO Studios film (Speeder), 2023 will be anything but! Yes, we are technically planning on releasing fewer films in 2023 (just 3 are currently planned), but one of those films is the massive time travel epic A Future in the Past, which will reshape our cinematic universe just in time for Twenty Years Young. The other two films, Hunted: A (Not) Bigfoot Story (for THAC 2023) and Bradford Rant: Beginnings (for BRAWL 2023) are intended to be companion pieces for this time travel tale, making this one massive time travel year! This has shifted one other scheduled release, though.

Studio Construction and Twenty Years Young Delay Johnny Thunder and the Secret of Marco Polo: The Adventure Retold

It's been several years since we first announced that Johnny Thunder and the Secret of Marco Polo was going to be remade (not unlike Alms Pouch) for release in 2025, but since we've evaluated our schedule, we've realized that delays in construction and all of the necessary work for Twenty Years Young means that this film is going to be pushed back to 2028, just in time for the original film's twentieth anniversary. We have decided to use this time to also delay B.I.O. Corps to 2029, mainly to give us some wiggle room in the event that schedules have to shift again.

All Other Projects Have Remained on Schedule!

For the time being, all of our other announced projects are still on-track for their planned releases. If any news about changing release time frames arise, we will report them here.

Lead Out

Like we mentioned, it's going to be a slower year, but that's all because of what's to be expected next year! And that's not even including 2024, which is still expanding and refining its already-packed schedule for our twentieth anniversary!
