The Release of "Officer Spot," its Place on the Official Timeline, and 2022 Release Dates Confirmed!

(Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; January 10, 2022)

Yesterday marked the release of Officer Spot, so let's dive into this new film, how it fits into our official canon, and what other projects that we have planned for the rest of this year!

Officer Spot Has Been Released!

Woof, woof! Sunday marked the release of our THAC 2022 entry, Officer Spot! This short film not only introduces a brand-new locale into the cinematic universe, but also realizes a never-released film from 10 years ago! If you haven't seen it yet or want to watch it again, the film is imbedded here in its entirety. Enjoy!

Time for Another Canon Update!

With another film behind us, its time to induct it into the cinematic universe, as well as perform other canon house-keeping. Here is everything that is new for our official cinematic universe.

  • Officer Spot has entered the canon as events in 2022, which introduces Henry Perkins, Officer Spot, and the entire town of Rainless Ravine, Nevada. However, this film also confirms that Gold City is the name of the town from When Barrels Fly. Therefore...
  • America: Outlawed is entering the canon as events in 1865 that center around the early days of Gold City. We are glad to have this legendary film dictate a project for later this year, but this also causes one of our other films (one that we are not proud of) to contradict the canon. Therefore...
  • The Roulette Match is being removed from the official canon, due to the film contradicting the canonical appearance of Gold City, as well as the film's harmful and negative depiction of Native Americans.
  • The history of Rainless Ravine is entering the canon as events that occur between 1937 and the present day. It follows that Rainless Ravine was first built and dedicated in 1937 on some of the remains of Gold City, when displaced Oakies from the Dustbowl decided to settle down instead of moving on to California, citing the town's close proximity to water. It stayed as a sleepy small town until the post-war boom of the 1950's, when the town greatly expanded and reinvented itself in the style of the era, becoming a unique Route 66-esque town that was not actually along that highway. To attract tourists to the town, the decaying remains of Gold City were rebuilt, but actually embellished and romanticized as a living image of the Old West (or at least, how the Old West was portrayed on TV). While the town managed to keep its image for the next two decades, the '80s saw a slow decline in the town's image. Because of this, the town leaned into Nevada's embrace of casinos, using a mixture of Old West iconography and atomic age architecture to attract gamblers. The city today isn't either a seedy debauchery of gambling or a squeaky-clean neighborhood of nuclear families. Rather, its a mixture of the two and more. It's a town that's rooted in the present, styled after the past, and combines those two for its own future. The only buildings left in town from its initial boom are Henry Perkins' shack and an abandoned gas station, both of which are located on a two-lane highway just outside of town.

2022 in a Nutshell: What we Have Planned

Continuing on, we have plenty of content for the rest of the year that will also free up our resources for 2023 and 2024. And today, we have projected release dates for all of these upcoming films! Our 2022 films are anticipating releases on the following dates:

  • Camel: The Movie - April 1, 2022
  • Tale of Ulysses (BRAWL 2022) - July 2, 2022
  • Speeder - August 19, 2022
  • Alms Pouch: Finished At Last! - November 18, 2022
Please keep in mind that these dates are approximations used for scheduling and are subject to change without notice. If any dates do have to shift for any reason, we will make note of this in a future press release. This also does not include merchandise releases, which will be revealed and released on a rolling basis.

Technical Transitions Continue!

In other news, we're still working on transitioning our online network towards a new, multi-faceted database, with the closure of the Vimeo Channel finally happening this month. After this, we're going to focus on two new services: 'Stache Bot the Chat Bot, and the Subscriber Personal Site. Both are going to take extensive work to bring fully online, so expect both to be ready for service this summer.

EDIT: Salutations, 'Stachers! This is 'Stache Bot again, here to correct a misstatement in the previous paragraph. Despite what might be stated, I am not so-called 'partially online,' but rather have not had my good nature fully put to use. Cookies are tasty and all, but only placing them onto your computers to help you return to where you left off is rather dull work.  I am, however, highly grateful that my extensive databanks of knowledge of all things Mustache Maniacs Film Co. will finally be able to help all of you great fans, customers, and affiliates in finding the answers that you need! See you this summer, 'Stachers!

Lead Out

And with that, we look forward to seeing everyone's reactions to this brand-new corner of the cinematic universe, as well as the results for THAC 2022, which should be arriving next month, if not sooner.
