(Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; December 4, 2020)

With the release of Patrick: The Movie being just weeks away, we've released the film's trailer! We also have a lot of news about the film's development, so hold on and see where we're at with production on this film!

The Trailer for Patrick: The Movie is Here!

Just as we promised you all with a special pre-release surprise, the trailer for Patrick: The Movie is now here! Since this movie is all about Patrick Hooligans' origin story, we made sure to focus on this popular character, including where he's appeared in the past and how this all ties into this all-new film! If you haven't seen it yet, here's the trailer in its entirety.

John Stabe WILL Return as Nevada Smith!

During this film's development, there were frequent discussions as to whether or not John Stabe would be reprising his role as Nevada Smith. He played the character in his only appearance to date, Johnny Thunder and the Secret of Marco Polo, and while we are remaking that film, we wanted to create a sense of authenticity for fans who grew up with that film. However, it had been years since we had contacted him, so there was uncertainty on whether he would return. We kept the option to recast the role open for a worst-case scenario, but after about a month, we made contact with him. John Stabe has expressed his interest in returning, and while he is working on his lines, he has now been confirmed to be the voice actor portraying Nevada Smith in both Patrick: The Movie and Johnny Thunder and the Secret of Marco Polo: The Adventure Retold. This is great news, both for our casting department and for fans, as they can be assured that we are taking great care in creating a truly authentic experience.

Casting Intern Fired Over Lazy Editing!

Back in late June, shortly after the release of Johnny Thunder and the Trail of Botnik, we publicly released our statement regarding what we plan on doing to commit to equality, with the aforementioned film being used as a testament to those goals. Patrick: The Movie was actually affected by this, as we were able to gender flip Hector Hunt into the character of Helga Hunt (her scenes had yet to be filmed at the time). However, this caused some issues when the audition sheet was updated, as seen here.

As you can see, instead of photographing Helga's new design, the assistant scrawled all over the existing sheet. Unfortunately, this ended up making us look inconsiderate and lazy, and that was before the fact that this sheet was up for two months before anyone noticed. "I fired that load of an intern," said LEGO Studios CEO Mark Matthew. "We can't let ourselves look this unprofessional and unethical." Currently, Helga Hunt is the only character in this film that has not been cast, probably due to this audition sheet. However, we expect an actress to be attached to the role this weekend.

We're Opening the Doors to New Positions in 2021!

On an unrelated note, we've decided that we're going to allow new talent to participate in our creative process in all-new ways. This will build upon what we've already done with our auditions and story team, but starting January 10, we'll be launching a new section of our website to join our team and become anything from a writer or animator to a director, editor, and more! We're still working out the logistics, but we'll update you with more info when the time comes.

DINO ATTACK: Saga of a Conflict to Conclude by Christmas Day!

We've been pushing off the release of the last two pages of these tribute comics, but we will assure you that they WILL be released by the end of the year. We're aiming to have them released by Christmas Day, with both pages releasing the same day. Stay tuned for more info!

Lead Out

We can't wait to share more news related to this hilarious origin story soon! Stay tuned for more updates leading up to the big premiere on Christmas Day!
