First "Legends of the Universe" Promotional Campaign Coming in October to Celebrate 10 Years of LEGO Universe!

(Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; August 15, 2020)

With many of our projects safely continuing work, we have a special announcement to share with everyone who dearly misses the MMOG LEGO Universe! No, it's not a revival, but it is something in the spirit of the game, which turns ten years old this year!

First-Ever Trailer for Legends of the Universe is Coming October 26, 2020!

The highly-anticipated finale to Project U, Legends of the Universe, is going to receive its first-ever trailer on October 26, 2020, the tenth anniversary (to the day) of the release of LEGO Universe! This trailer, which is actually more of a teaser, is going to showcase one of the main draws of the film: The fact that it's going to feature over fifteen years of Mustache Maniacs Film Co. characters together on-screen! Not many details exist about the teaser, but expect lots of references to both LEGO Universe and Mustache Maniacs Film Co. movies! But that's not all we have planned!

Stromling Versus Special Posters to be Released Throughout October!

To count down to the teaser's release, we're releasing an entire collection of posters that showcase every stromling breed that appears in Legends of the Universe! If you've never played LEGO Universe, stromlings are the corrupted troops in Baron Typhonus' army to spread chaos, with their end goal being to assimilate all of reality into their force of chaos, the Maelstrom.

With these posters, we're going to not just showcase these stromlings, but also show the heroes of the film locked in combat with these villainous beings (hence the name of the series, Stromling Versus). While this may change, here are the planned posters and who they will contain.

  1. Stromling vs. Cam Attaway
  2. Stromling Mech vs. Chase McCain
  3. Dark Spiderling vs. Kai and Zachary Virchaus
  4. Maelstrom Spider vs. Johnny Thunder and Dareth
  5. Stromling Pirate vs. Nya
  6. Stromling Admiral vs. Zac Fernstein
  7. Stromling Ape vs. Sarah Thunder and Lance Spears
  8. Dark Ronin vs. Flex
  9. Maelstrom Horseman vs. Pepper Roni
  10. Maelstrom Dragon vs. Cole and Mark Walker
  11. Freak Darkling vs. Fluffy Flamingo
  12. Maelstrom Hover Bot vs. Erik "Demoman" Paulson
  13. Mutant T-Rex vs. Radia and Prof. Samantha Rhodes
  14. Mutant Pterodactyl vs. Ulysses S. Powell and Rooky Partnur
  15. Mutant Raptor vs. Terrance Thorgood
  16. Mutant Lizard vs. Silencia Venomosa
  17. Mutant Vinscale Octomus vs. Ice Fisherman and Polar Bear
  18. Stromling Explorer vs. Dash Justice
  19. Stromling Agent vs. Legoman
  20. Stromling Scientist vs. Arthur Van Helbrick
  21. Stromling Lumberjack vs. Pippin Reed Thunder
  22. Stromling Astronaut vs. Jessica Thompson
  23. Stromling Miner vs. Frank Honey
  24. Stromling Researcher vs. Lloyd Garmadon
  25. Stromling Rail Worker vs. Sky Lane
  26. Grumpy Darkling vs. Cosmo Cool
  27. Corrupted Mower vs. Dr. Cyber and Ingo
  28. Stromling Ninja vs. Nana
We're hoping to have one out per day in October, with work commencing on these posters as soon as possible.

Do You Want to be an Official Writer for Mustache Maniacs Film Co.?
While we haven't had the fan engagement that we used to have ten years ago, we have decided to open up this opportunity for anyone who loves writing and is interested in contributing to our cinematic universe.
You see, after Mark Matthew reacted violently to the pitch for Rap-Trick back in April, he's ordered the creation of an official story bible for the Mustache Maniacs Film Co. cinematic universe, which includes everything that any budding writer for our universe needs to know. The story bible is set to be released on January 1, 2021, with one new edition being released annually, and it covers all of our characters, movies, locations, comics, books, and anything else considered canonical.
While it is considered a studio resource, and therefore won't be released publicly, we are extending an offer to some of our more interested fans who want to write for our cinematic universe. With Project U still needing a lot of attention, along with our upcoming twentieth anniversary celebration, we are giving fans the opportunity to write canonical works for us, either short stories, scripts, comics, or anything else! If this interests you, read on for more information.

How Do I Become a Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Writer?
Starting today, you can follow these steps to ensure that you get your spot as a member of our story team! Here's how it's done.
  1. Visit the Contact Page on our official website and send us a message expressing your interest in becoming a writer. Be sure to include your e-mail in the appropriate field. If you have any work samples, be sure to include links to those in your application.
  2. We will review your application, including perusing any work samples, if available. We will contact you with our response within a week.
  3. If you are accepted into our story team, you will need to sign a non-disclosure agreement, especially since the story team works on story material years in advance. Only then will you be brought on-board.
  4. Starting January 1, 2021, all members of the story team will receive a copy of the official story bible and style guide. Every January 1 from then on out, all members of the story team will receive the updated version of the story bible.
Now, if you do become a writer for us, here are some responsibilities that you can expect from this position.
  • Free-Writing: Sometimes, we'll just petition our story team to write whatever they want, in the pursuit of finding a good story. These don't have to be full stories, but just ideas written down. Alternatively, We may just ask a writer to tell us something random, like what was inside Billy the Kid's tuna sandwich that Patrick Hooligans ate in India back in 2008.
  • Updating the Wiki: When there's nothing else going on, the story team will mostly be responsible for keeping the Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Wiki updated by using the story bible. For example, if a page on the wiki directly contradicts the story bible, then the page will be updated by the story team.
  • Assignments: This is probably the most exciting part of being on the story team, as this part of the job entails working on a story within certain parameters. For example, if Bricks in Motion were to host a summer contest about, say, power and authority, we would turn to the story team to come up with the story for the film based around that theme, then to write the film's script to be submitted and reviewed by the board of directors.
  • Clarifying Ambiguous Material: While it might be in our best interest to keep certain details ambiguous for the sake of spoilers, sometimes a piece of information needs to be clarified in order for something to work. The story team will be responsible for taking care of this, but please remember to consult the story bible first to make sure that this detail hasn't already been established canonically.
We look forward to reading the applications that we are expecting to receive over the coming months. If you have any questions, please submit that in the comments section, and we'll get back to you as soon as possible. If you're looking to perform in our films instead, go to our Auditions Page.

Lead Out
We have some other news to share over the coming weeks regarding our current projects, but this has just been handed to me--Hey! It's my lunch! Will someone continue for--oh. We don't have any other writers currently, but just send us your application and we soon will!
