Back on May 9, 2020, a new documentary that briefly features Pharaoh's Quest: The Curse of Amset-Ra was released! If you don't believe us, read on!
Pharaoh's Quest: The Curse of Amset-Ra Has Been Featured in a Documentary!
Yes, you have read that correctly. Our latest film was featured, alongside many other films, in the documentary The History of Brickfilms: LEGO Studios! This documentary is actually the latest episode of a docu-series titled The History of Brickfilms, which originally debuted 2 years ago with an episode on brickfilms from the 70's and 80's. This episode, however, is the longest yet at almost an hour long, as it not only covers the LEGO Studios product line, but also the promotions surrounding it, as well as the legacy left behind by the product line, specifically The Steven Spielberg Movie Maker Set! That legacy is where Pharaoh's Quest: The Curse of Amset-Ra comes into play, as it is featured as an example of a very recent film continuing the theme's legacy (which, in our opinion, is fitting, considering that our pre-formation era involved the said movie maker set). You can watch it below.
Our Own History of Being Featured by Other Content Creators
It comes as no surprise, though, that we have our own history of being featured by others in their own works. We have done our own research, and here is our timeline.
- December 17, 2010: Worcester Cold Storage Warehouse Fire gets official recognition from the FDNY; the film is integrated into the department's training program.
- October 18, 2011: SPM Physics, featuring physics tutor Cikgu Fizik, uses Wonders of Buoyancy as a part of their science curriculum to teach about buoyancy.
- July 9, 2012: As a thank you for the prize he received for winning the Vacation: Unlimited Animation Contest, HollywoodLego creates an animation featuring Patrick Hooligans. This is the first time that an original Mustache Maniacs Film Co. character is featured in a non-Mustache Maniacs Film Co. production.
- October 21, 2013: The commissioned Flash animation, A Bite of MyJobs, is officially released and begins screening at College of the Canyons to educate students about the school's Cooperative Work Experience Education program.
- July 8, 2014: The results for the Crazy Birthday E-Card Contest are announced, which includes three fan films that all feature Mustache Maniacs Film Co. characters.
- December 21, 2016: PeabodySam releases a trailer for the comic series Dino Attack: Saga of a Conflict on his YouTube Channel, VezonWireless.
- May 9, 2020: The History of Brickfilms: LEGO Studios, created by sillypenta, is released, which features a clip from Pharaoh's Quest: The Curse of Amset-Ra.
As far as we can tell, this list is complete, but if any more information related to this surfaces in the coming months, we'll let you know.
In just a short span of time, How To Build a Log Cabin has finished its production phase and is now well into its post-production phase! "This has been as fast and fun production," said film director Seth Masterson. "The cast was wonderful and our premise, while simple, is one that we've been wanting to make for years. It's so great to finally see this idea come to fruition." The film will be in post-production for the next week, with an expected release on May 29. When the film is released, we'll also announce our summer plans.
This year, we've committed to completing our last three re-releases in a massive project that began with the start of Digital Decade back in 2018. While productions have been impacted by Covid-19, these re-releases will give fans new content to look forward to. While the on-going pandemic can change plans at a moment's notice, here is our general time frame for the last three re-releases.
- The Adventures of Legoman - Late May/June 2020
- Johnny Thunder and the Gift of the Nile - July 2020
- Alms Pouch - Late Summer/Fall 2020
We apologize for not committing to more exact dates, but as we approach the summer, we'll have a better understanding of when we can exactly release these special editions.
Lead Out
There isn't much in the way of news today, but we do hope that you enjoyed today's more unconventional feature. We'll have more news as the release date for How To Build a Log Cabin approaches.
