Crazyhouse Comics Will Introduce Three New Comic Series in 2015 and Beyond!

As "Ten Years of Going Crazy!" nears its end, details regarding the future of Mustache Maniacs Film Co. beyond 2014 continued to surface today with an announcement coming from an unlikely branch of the company. "It's been a year since the last comic for Tales of the Adventurers was released," said LEGO Studios CEO Mark Matthew. "But, despite comics being part of Mustache Maniacs Film Co.'s history, we had no comics for this year. We are working on making sure that 2015 will more than make up for that." No, this does not mean that Tales of the Adventurers will be returning, but plenty of new comics are certainly on their way. In fact, not one, not two, but three new series are in the works, and they will all be distinct from each other, both in visuals and narrative.
The first will actually make its debut before the end of the year. Titled Out of His Time, this comic series will follow Ulysses S. Powell after he arrives in the present day in Late for the Soccer Match and his hilarious misadventures of trying to fit into modern society. This comic series will be in a comic strip format with broad gestures and a loose style in order to heighten the comedy of this continuously-running series. While the first comic will be released by the end of the year, expect more comics throughout 2015 and beyond.
While that previous comic is designed to be run  indefinitely, the other two will only last as long as the narrative that they are trying to tell. The first of these two, also coming out in 2015, will be titled Journey to Siberia, which takes place between the first and second Johnny Thunder films. "We've always toyed with the idea of telling the story of how Lord Sam Sinister, Patrick, and Horatio Schmidt made their way from the Dragon Fortress to Vladnichuk's store, which until now was only some dialogue spoken by Lord Sinister," said Mark Matthew. "With this new comic series, we will finally be able to visually and fully tell this obscure and hilarious story from Mustache Maniacs Film Co. canon." Comics for this series will be released starting in the late spring of 2015 and will be released as mini comic books created in a light, funny style.
However, if you like your comic books to be dark and foreboding, then we have the comic book series for you. Coming in 2016 is a series of graphic novels titled Dino Attack: Saga of a Conflict. Based on the BZPower RPGs Dino Attack RPG and Dino Attack RPG: At War's End, this new and extensive graphic novel series will recount the entire story that this inventive RPG had to offer, from the first battle in LEGO City and the discovery of Dr. Rex's plan to the missions to Ogel Island, LEGO Island, Adventurer's Island, and Legorado, as well as the climatic final battle and aftermath. "We are working closely with the veterans of the RPG to make this series possible," said Mark Matthew. "Since many of the RPGs archives are now lost, we have to take every precaution to make this series as accurate as possible, while not lagging too much." The first of what will be many graphic novels will be out by the end of 2016. Yet, there are so many comic books in this series, much planning has to be done, so here is our possible, but not guaranteed, release time frame for the comics.
  • Book 1: The Conflict Begins - 2016
  • Book 2: The Madness of Dr. Rex - 2017
  • Book 3: International Dilemma - 2018
  • Book 4: Mission: Adventurer's Island - 2019
  • Book 5: The Truth Exposed - 2019
  • Book 6: At War's End - 2020
  • Book 7: An Epilogue and Preface - 2020
So, while there were no comics for Ten Years of Going Crazy!, Crazyhouse Comics is making a comeback with a vengeance! This, paired up with Project U, goes to show that we have plenty of material lined up to keep us going through our twentieth anniversary! We hope that you will have as much fun reading these comics as we do making them!
