At The Second Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Fan Choice Awards, our next big project, Project U, was officially announced to much fanfare. Many were especially excited to hear about Alpha Team: Mission Deep Jungle, one of the first films in this project. Now, a day after this announcement, we are pleased to give an in-depth look at this massive and ambitious project.
As mentioned in the announcement, Project U will consist of ten movies featuring both existing LEGO story lines and original concepts integrated into the project. These films, in order of release, are:
  1. Attack of the Fifty-Foot Hamster (October 31, 2014): Yes, you read that right. The upcoming horror-comedy about the monster hamster Black Bear and Billy Lugosi's early days is the beginning of Project U. In some respects, this film acts as Project U's prologue, since this is when we are introduced to the Bradford Rant Institute of Cosmic Kinesis, an important player later on.
  2. Alpha Team: Mission Deep Jungle (Summer 2015): Just as we've already mentioned, this film takes place ten years after the Mission Deep Freeze sets, which features both the original agents and new characters. Of course, since this film is part of Project U's LEGO Universe-based story line, be sure to see some unexpected surprises!
  3. Pharaoh's Quest: The Curse of Amset-Ra (Fall 2015): Time for a flashback as we see how Jake Raines helped save the world and how Archibald Hale found many of the ancient inscriptions that become relevant in later films.
  4. A Future in the Past (2016): The Time Cruisers team up with Civil War veteran Ulysses S. Powell to see what really happened to Dr. Bradford Rant back in 1985. Instead, they wind up in 5891, where humanity has moved directly beneath the Hall of Extinction to an underground city. But when Professor Millennium and Tony Twister steal the time machine, it becomes an all-out chase across history!
  5. Legacy of Van Helbrick (2016): Arthur Van Helbrick finally gets the role he deserves as he tells about his adventures with Dr. Rodney Rathbone and the Monster Fighters' quest to stop Lord Vampyre's villainous plans. (This film has been re-named Van Helbrick: Monster Fighter)
  6. Alpha Team: Operation Deep City (2017): Alpha Team must now team up with Chase McCain, Frank Honey, and the rest of the LCPD in order to bring down a madman that calls himself Dr. Inferno, though there are other mysteries that stem up. (This film has been re-named Alpha Team: Mission Deep City)
  7. Johnny Thunder and the Glory Beneath Bermuda (2017): Johnny Thunder, his friends, and the Deep Sea Salvage Crew are in search for ancient underwater treasure in the Bermuda Triangle in this adaptation of LEGO's Aqua Raiders product line. (This film has been re-named Johnny Thunder and the Wonders Beneath the Waves)
  8. Team G.A.C.T.T.C.G.A. (2018): In this original story, a team of genetically-altered secret agents are sent to the New England countryside to investigate reports of a strange power that relates directly to Project U's overall plot line. (This film has been re-named B.I.O. Corps)
  9. Mysteries of the Arctic (2019): Based on the LEGO Arctic sets, an expedition is sent to the Arctic after an incident with a mining crew in the area grabs the interest of researchers, but they have no idea what they are getting into!
  10. Legends of the Universe (2020): Project U concludes with this massive crossover event brickfilm! Almost every character ever created by both Mustache Maniacs Film Co. and LEGO will come together for this exciting epic adventure, which will also feature the winners of the Nexus Force Character Creation Sweepstakes.
"It will take a long time to complete, but this ambitious project is bound to be a success," said LEGO Studios CEO Mark Matthew. "We know that, because of our survey, these are the types of films people want to see." In addition to the films, the Project U-Build Play Set Adventures will have tie-in sets for these films and a complete visual guide for the project will be released around 2020. We hope you are just as excited about this project as we are!

    1. I just read your comment, and I'm glad to hear enthusiasm about Project U! By the way, out of curiosity, which two themes are your friend's favorite?
