After about a month's worth of filming, the production stage for Late for the Soccer Match has been completed! "We are so glad this film has wrapped," said director Seth Masterson. "I am now certain that we'll be able to meet our deadline for mid-October." Editing will begin shortly, with a final submission into the Kitchen Sink contest in early October. The film will be released publicly on October 19th.
Now that the aforementioned filming is done, work can now speed back up on the filming for Johnny Thunder and the Wisdom of the Ancients. "We're still in London, and it's very frustrating," said director Steven Lawrence. "I was a little concerned that we're not going to make the December 2013 deadline for filming. However, now that all of our other projects in production are finished, I can breathe a sigh of relief." This new adventure will be discovered in the summer of 2014, just in time for Mustache Maniacs Film Co.'s tenth anniversary.
In other news, Mustache Maniacs Film Co. continues its partnership with CarTOON Shack to develop a new traditional animation for the 2012 Christmas season. In the past, this partnership has resulted in the popular An Afternoon at the Zoo and the upcoming Zoo Flight game, which is now slated for release this fall. "We are glad that this partnership is continuing," said Steve Brocko, head of the LEGO Studios traditional animation department. "The artists at CarTOON Shack are very creative and very funny. They love what they do and have made great films. We're glad to be collaborating with them again." No release date has yet been set beyond Holiday 2012.
Finally, registration dates have been announced for the Film School Challenge. "We now have official registration dates," stated LEGO Studios CEO Mark Matthew. "If you are one of the five winners in the Vacation: Unlimited Scrapbook Contest, your first day to register is October 15th. The general public's first day to register is December 1st. In all cases, the last day to register is February 28th, 2013. We'll kick off the contest on April 1st, right after Vacation: Unlimited ends." Also, the max number of registration slots is thirty. In case you don't know, the Film School Challenge is a fun, energetic way to enhance your storytelling and animation skills in a game show-style format. Characters from Mustache Maniacs Film Co. movies introduce topics in videos like staging, plot structure, the 12 principles of animation, and more in a unique fashion. Then the contestants must complete a challenge. Through process of elimination, only one will be left standing, who will then be awarded with a part in a future Mustache Maniacs Film Co. film.
Until then, a spooky re-release titled The Drama Zone: Nightmare at Shady Acres will come out on October 26th, just in time for Halloween! Boo!
