A Whole Extra Day for Announcements!

Happy Leap Day, everyone! This is an occasion that only comes around every four years, so be sure to celebrate! In fact, this leap day is the first one since the Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Press Room went online, so it was only fitting that we have a big announcement session today! Let's get started!
After the success of Project Proofread, the on-going project to spell check all of the previous press releases, the studio has now decided to extend the project so that now it will encompass all of the video descriptions as well! Along with this spell check, all of the video descriptions will also get the links that the latest videos have gotten. This project to correct the press releases and video descriptions will continue until June 2012.
Another new thing coming this Summer is a reboot of the canceled The Adventures of Legoman Comic Book! The rebooted comic book will remain the same as before, but now it will have more detail than before! The comic book is set to come out July 2012.
Also, the contest prizes have been decided! "We hope that, now that the prizes have been confirmed, people can now decide whether or not to enter the contest," said Lego Studios CEO Mark Matthew. "I also want to remind everyone that all mailing addresses will be kept confidential and will only be used to ship the prizes." The prizes will be the same for both categories. The prizes are:
One Grand Prize (per category): An entire vacation collection, including a Vacation: Unlimited DVD (containing all entries and more), 7567: Traveller set, 4435: Car and Camper set, and a certificate of achievement!
"We are glad that we are hosting such a contest," stated Sam Snead, head of Marketing Relations. "By doing this, we give our fans a chance to exercise their creative muscles and show us what they can do. In March, to get more entries, we are also going to promote the contest on Eurobricks.com, where contests like this are very popular." The contest will run until June 14th.
Also in the works is another traditional animation titled Guard Dog. This short and comedic film will tell about a day on the job for the hulking guard dog Col. Bow Wow and the thief that tries to steal from the vault he is guarding. "This short film will be something special," said Steve Brocko, head of the traditional animation department. "Never before have we traditionally animated a dog, and never before have we included such a massive and expressive dog in one of our films. It will be a challenge for us, but if it turns out right, I think it'll be worth it." Along with the announcement, a concept piece for Col. Bow Wow was released, which can be seen below.

Finally, another major expansion to the website was unveiled today. In this new expansion, the website will no longer be ad-supported, allowing for a lot more content. By the end of this Summer, many components of the website will be moved around and more content will be added. Here are the proposed changes:
  • BrickJournal.com and FBTB.com will be linked on the "Links" page and the Brickfilms.com link will be restored.
  • The "More Major Films" page will be disbanded and its contents distributed throughout the website.
  • Two more From the Vaults re-releases will be added to the "From the Vaults" page.
  • The Adventures of Legoman, Wonders of Buoyancy, and an unannounced major From the Vaults re-release will get their own pages.
  • A Very Patrick Christmas and The First Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Fan Choice Awards will get their own, all-new, page titled "Behind the Camera."
  • A Battle to Remember will be moved to the "Other Films" page.
  • All traditional animations and animatics will move to a brand new page titled "Traditional Animation."
If any more changes come to the website, we'll let you know. There will also be a few "Top Secret" surprises, too, so keep your eyes open!
As for releases, more "From the Vaults" content will debut from now until the end of 2014, the corrected version of Worcester Cold Storage Warehouse Fire will come out March 3rd, Guard Dog will make its way in during the Spring, Gone Ice Fishin' will be reeled in April 2012, and Johnny Thunder and the Wisdom of the Ancients will be discovered Summer 2014.
