So much time has been spent running errands and compiling paperwork, the studio has little time left to do anything else. Also, the studio has been working up another script for a potential horror movie. There just hasn't been enough time lately to do anything else.      Therefore, last night, the unanimous decision was made to cancel the proposed 'Patrick's Adventures' Comic Series. "I know many of the fans will be disappointed, but we just don't have the time right now," stated Mark Matthew, head of the board of directors. By: Andrew Bermudez (Lego Studios; September 5, 2009)      While the filming for Johnny Thunder and the Gift of the Nile continues in Egypt, the studio decided to share some movie stills and information in an exclusive first look at the movie.      New Characters: Along with the return of Johnny Thunder, Lord Sinister, Pippin, Dr. Kilroy, the beloved Patrick, and more, new characters will be introduced. Along the way, the characters meet Vladnichuk; a Russian arms dealer that Lord Sinister and his gang buy weapons from, Jerry Digalot; the cousin of James Digalot, Sarah Thunder; the Daughter of Johnny and Pippin (she wasn't in the first movie because she was in school), Hiram Aziz; an Egyptologist, and Slyboots; the villainous leader of the Egyptian Black Market.      A different type of beginning: Unlike the beginning for Johnny Thunder and the Secret of Marco Polo , which featured a mysterious murder, the begi...

"I'll ask a fan of the first Johnny Thunder movie why they are looking forward to Johnny Thunder and the Gift of the Nile, and they'll probably say, 'because Patrick is going to be in it.' Pretty soon, people will be thinking of Patrick as a henchman, not as the starfish that partly inspired the character," said Mark Matthew, head of the studio's board of directors.      Now, to help fans survive the long wait for Johnny Thunder 2 , Lego Studios has hired a local cartoonist to animate Lord Sinister and Patrick into the cartoon world. By: Andrew Bermudez (Desert Plain outside Cairo, Egypt; August 21, 2009)      After several days of filming some of the opening scenes for Johnny Thunder and the Gift of the Nile in Legotown, the crew has now arrived in Egypt. "It has been such an exciting experience, and now we're in Egypt, ready to shoot the rest of the movie," said boom operator Sarah Williamson.      The first scene that will be shot in Egypt is the film's prologue, which takes place in Ancient Egypt. "When writing the script, I wanted the film to have some historical basis," stated scriptwriter Peter Samuel. "When I came across the story of Pharaoh Ramses III, I said to myself, 'this is a really facinating story. I have to choose this one.' I then came up with the idea of a historical prologue with a ficticous ending that ties the treasure into the story." "We are all very excited about this. We had so much fun making the first film, and we're now filming the sequel! I have high expectations for the film," said Steven Lawrence, the film's director.      For the first day, the crew filmed a short school scene at Legotown High. "The clip is basically Dr. Kilroy walking up to a blackboard, where he delivers a few lines before the clip fades to the next scene," stated gaffer Sam Reynolds. "It wasn't much, but it will serve as a vital link to the rest in the film," said production assistant Theodore Johnson.      Tomorrow's filming will be done in the back room of the Legotown Museum, where Johnny is given a letter that begins his adventure. "We decided to make the decision when we realized that we would mainly be busy filming Johnny Thunder and the Gift of the Nile ," said Mark Matthew, head of the board of directors. "With all of this commotion, especially since we plan on ordering some prop weapons, we just don't have the time to get the movie out by November 27th. Alas, maybe next year, but not this year."      In the meantime, some promotional ads are being written up. Peter Samuel, the resident script writer, said, "I am currently working on some commercials for tourist attractions around town, including the Sea Life Aquarium, the Legotown Museum, and others. Even though the vacation was cut short by three days due to bad weather, they still had a wonderful time. Here are the details on the last days of the vacation.      Day 38: Today we drove on to the Gateway Arch in St. Louis. Here we visited the underground Jefferson National Expansion Memorial, which featured a museum about westward expansion. The entire complex, especially the arch, was very clean and impressive. Pity the same cannot be said about the rest of St. Louis. For the night, we stopped in Independence, MO.      Day 39: Today we went into Independence. First, we visited the Truman Presidential Library. It featured all sorts of different artifacts, including the famous "The Buck Stops Here" sign.
