Just in time for Memorial Day, wave 1 of the all-new legacy subtitles have arrived to help the hard of hearing to enjoy our films! Here's all of the details, plus a look at our tentative release schedule for the rest of the year!

Wave 1 Subtitles Have Arrived!

To better help our audiences enjoy our films, we launched a new initiative back in January to add subtitles to all of our past films (that is, before the start of Twenty Years Young in January 2024). Today, we've just added these subtitles to all of our films released from 2020 through 2023, with some gaps left open with the 2024 releases finally being patched up. Below is a list of all of the films that just received subtitles!

  • Bradford Rant: Beginnings
  • Camel: The Movie
  • Camel: The Movie - April Fool's Day Edition
  • Hunted: A (Not) Bigfoot Story
  • Johnny Thunder and the Trail of Botnik
  • New Friends ~ An Environmental Fable: Chief Financial Officer Edition
  • Officer Spot
  • Patrick: The Movie
  • Pharaoh's Quest: The Curse of Amset-Ra
  • Rap-Trick
  • Speeder
  • Tale of Ulysses
  • The Bartender's Tale
  • The Employee of the Month
  • The Happiness Fund
  • The Legacy of Twenty Years Young
  • The Recycling Enigma
  • Venomosa: The Bounty of Billy the Kid
But that's just the start, because more are already in the works!

What's to Come for Wave 2 Subtitles!

Right on the heels of the wave 1 subtitles, work has already begun on the wave 2 subtitles! These will continue working backwards through our catalog of films and will cover all of the films released between 2015 to 2019. This was a smaller release period for us, so this wave is expected to be completed sooner than wave 1. Below are all of the films that will receive subtitles in wave 2.

  • Alpha Team: Mission Deep Jungle
  • Attack of the Fifty-Foot Hamster
  • Clone
  • Fifteenth Anniversary Tribute
  • Mustache Maniacs Film Co. is Coming to LEGO Dimensions!
  • New Year's Resolution
  • Ninjago: Visions of Memories
  • Ocean of Fear
  • Rift
  • The Film That Changes Everything!
  • The Kingfisher
  • The Pen
  • The Third Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Fan Choice Awards
Though things may change, this wave is expected to be released late Summer 2025.

The On-Going Work for The Fourth Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Fan Choice Awards

Things have been slow going for finishing up this film, but we are committed to completing this film this year! Filming is expected to wrap up soon, with a release aiming for the late Summer. While things are certainly heating up, we're going to push for filming to be completed by the end of this month, partially to give the film extra time in post-production, and also to clean up ahead of BRAWL 2025. More news will follow.

The General Release Schedule for 2025

With that said, this year is still going to be a quiet one for us. Things will kick back into high gear in 2026, but we do have a small lineup for the rest of this year. An Imposter's Mission and Sand: The Movie have both proven to be big hits, so we're following up with two more films! Our BRAWL 2025 entry is, as always, expected to be released in late June (our best estimate currently is June 28, but do not consider this a confirmed release date), with The Fourth Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Fan Choice Awards releasing soon after then. Wave 2 of our subtitles is expected to be released near the end of the summer, with wave 3 expected near the end of the year. To reiterate, we're committed to getting this film finished this year, not only to bolster this year's line-up but also to prepare for a massive upgrade in quality next year!

Upgraded Film Standards to Roll Out in 2026!

We're always looking for ways to improve the quality of our content, so over the past several years, we've been testing different technological tools that have the potential to improve our films and more. Today, we're pleased to announce that the results of those tests are in, and we're here to share new quality standards that will go into effect in 2026! While this will not affect our releases this year, this is what you can expect to see going forward starting next January:

  • Overlaid (and expertly keyed) mouth animation is now becoming the standard for all stop-motion animation brickfilms. Unless the production timeframe does not allow it (such as a THAC entry), all dialogue will include mouth animation.
  • No one likes blurry things, and while this has been an issue in the past, it's not going to be considered acceptable going forward. All animation that has already been shot for upcoming projects will be reevaluated this year. Starting in 2026, anything that is blurry or poorly composed will be reshot.
  • Live action is going to be making a comeback in a limited capacity, but the poor quality of the pre-formation era will not. Anything that will be shot with live action will first be evaluated to see if it should be shot as live action.
  • As was confirmed last year, generative AI will ONLY be used for strictly administrative tasks or emergency situations. If there's any technical work for any of our projects that can only be achieved with AI, then it will be allowed. However, the previous rule about allowing generative AI for April Fool's Day jokes is being rescinded and is no longer permitted. Idea generation is allowed to use some AI, but all finished products must be human made. Voice recordings are only allowed to be AI generated if the production timeframe means that this is the only option.
  • Any CGI effects or stock footage effects have to be well integrated into the film in order to be considered acceptable. This includes believable lighting, good compositing, and high-resolution effects.
  • Set designs and background layouts are going to push for more detail than before. We've already moved in this direction but set designs will no longer cut corners in any areas that will be visible to the audience. Naturally, support structures are allowed but must be hidden from view. Buildings without backs must now have custom back walls built to make the building look complete from the outside.
  • The studio's entire library of stock assets is being reevaluated this year. Any stock sounds, videos, music, and more that is either poor quality or non-functional will be removed.
There are some specifics that we may not have covered here, but we will be pushing for overall better quality going forward.
