All New Ask Mark Matthew!

By: Andrew Bermudez
(Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; March 4, 2018)
Today, we're bringing you an all-new Ask Mark Matthew, containing 100% new material! Let's get started!

Johnny Thunder and the Secret of Marco Polo:

Colby James writes: Hi and did you know I have been a fan of your Johnny Thunder films ever since I was like 13 years old,
I also have to tell you something you know I will also help you with the few henchman whom of Sam Sinister's gang whom never recived names, the one in Johnny Thunder and the Secret of Marco Polo in part 4 at 4:42 is an ex-New Zealand Army Second Lieutenant named Bobby Schneider and he is now a mercenary and the only New Zealander of Sam Sinsiter's gang and only he, Sam, Robert and Patrick were the four survivors of that gang that went to Mount Everest, what happened to him after Xi'an is unknown but know this, he stayed behind to allow Sam, Robert and Patrick to escape, Bobby was captured by the Chinese Army led by Mao Zedong III, but was interrogated and later revealled the location of the Dragon Fortress to Mao Zedong III,

The guy in Part One that says "Sir I just got a word from our spy he says that Thunder is on his way to Vennice," that guy whom we haven't a clue of his name well know this, his name is Dalton Harrod if you like to know much of Harrod's story Dalton Harrod was a Major in the British Army originally, and yes he survives to the very end of the story and is arrested a POW after the Dragon Fortress was taken,

The one in Part 3 whom says "Here are the men you sent for?" whom is a whinning Henchman you call, his name is Brett Milledge whom was a poacher on Lord Sinister's Henchman team, what happens to Milledge, you might think was he killed at the Dragon Fortress, well lets say of course no but he was arrested after the Fortress was taken, Milledge became a POW,

If you like here is a characters I named for you, the ones not listed in credits,

Mark: Glad to hear that you're still a fan after ten years of our online presence! However, while this is some interesting and imaginative information that you have provided, we cannot canonize it for the cinematic universe for two main reasons.
  1. Johnny Thunder and the Secret of Marco Polo is going to be remade: One of the criticisms that the film received is that there are almost too many characters, especially incidental characters like the ones that you fleshed out. The remake is going to fix this, but one of the side effects of these changes is that this information would then have to be ret-conned when the remake is released. Currently, the only character listed here that is written into the remake is Dalton Harrod, but there's another problem here:
  2. Dalton Harrod dies in the India sequence of the film: While we have decided to canonize Dalton Harrod as the name for Henchman #1 (the only henchman set to be in the remake), we cannot completely canonize his story as listed here, as he dies by Lord Sinister's hand when he makes fun of Lord Samuel Rudolph Sinister's middle name. This contradicts what is stated here, so canon-wise, he dies during the events of Johnny Thunder and the Secret of Marco Polo. This will be preserved in the remake, so this will not enter canon discontinuity.
With that said, this does not mean that your ideas will be flat-out neglected in the future. On the contrary, we could very well use some of these ideas and "cherry-pick" them for future characters. After all, while Andrew Bermudez's stories from his early years (read them here) are non-canon, characters from those said stories have been used in canon material, such as Sarah Thunder and Captain Bill Stewart. But, once again, while we couldn't use all of your ideas right now, we would like to thank you for taking the time to flesh out these incidental characters. Feel free to tackle incidental characters from our other films, if you so wish!

Forest of Fear:

LegoManiac101/SansYesBarneyNo vgcp writes: Can you use those 2 lego studios minifigures (the gent and lady) for a Texas Chainsaw Massacre stop motion?
Mark: Uhh...we don't really like to make films just for gratuitous violence, but we might, MIGHT, make a "Forest of Fear 2" if there is enough demand for it which, despite the film's high view count, there isn't. Mary and Leo will return in B.I.O. Corps, though.

Backstage Showcase Episode 28: Col. Mustard:

bernardo ensoli writes: sorry but where is pharoh's quest the curse of amest-ra
Mark: It is scheduled to be released on May 25 of this year. Check back for more updates!

Studio News Episode 03:

P.S. writes: You know, I only realized recently that Sam Sinister's line "You can do it the hard way, or if you're lazy like me, the easy way. This is like stealing candy from a baby." in "The Gift of the Nile" is from that old Johnny Thunder game set in Greece from the official website. It blew my mind.
Mark: You are correct! In fact, we are preserving that reference for the film's special edition, scheduled to return later this year!

Studio News Episode 02:

weeBaNeebs writes: Will u be doing Johnny thunder dino island
Mark: Not for a long time, though we are planning on it. In the meantime, feel free to enjoy our current Johnny Thunder stories, as well as the upcoming film Johnny Thunder and the Wonders Beneath the Waves.

That's it for today's edition of Ask Mark Matthew! Don't forget that if you have a question, comment, concern, or thought, post it where ever we'll be able to see it and respond. Until then, we'll be making movies!
