By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; May 28, 2017)      For our U.S. fans, tomorrow is Memorial Day, and that means a day filled with fun! But before we get to that, we have another studio update coming your way!      First, we have two new title treatments to share for future Project U films! The first one that is up is for the film that follows Pharaoh's Quest: The Curse of Amset-Ra : A Future in the Past ! The title treatment is designed to reflect the look of the design for the Time Cruisers logo, but also feel original to the film. The Hypno Disk featured in the logo was photographed just for this title treatment, with the damage being added by overlaying a rough metal texture. For this title treatment for Johnny Thunder and the Wonders Beneath the Waves , there was a need to finally give the Johnny Thunder films a unified title design for the fourth, fifth, and sixth films. This design goes in that direction, while also exploring an unde

What Could Have Been: The Scripts Considered Before "Mystery at Shady Acres"

By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; May 26, 2017)      If you have followed this press room, it's no secret that the last play that we released as a film, Mystery at Shady Acres , turned ten years old this month. To mark this occasion, we're going to do something quite unusual and take a look at the plays that were almost picked instead of Mystery at Shady Acres ! This is an unusual way to celebrate, but this is also one story that we have waited a decade to share! Let's get started with some context.       Disclaimer:  All of the title treatments and official play descriptions in this press release are the property of Pioneer Drama Service, Inc. We do not claim that these are our property in any manner, shape, or form.      Let's take a journey to November 2006. In the Cornerstone Thespian Society, the productions for Spotlight Night  and The Rented Christmas  were less than a month away. With the spring semester fast approaching, one

Several Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Artifacts on Public Display for First Time!

By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; May 22, 2017)      Over this past weekend, several artifacts from Mustache Maniacs Film Co.'s archive were on public display for the first time, including a number of characters and vehicles from some of our upcoming films. While the exhibit has now concluded, here is a photo tour of what was on display.      This overview shot shows how the exhibit was arranged, with artifacts from past productions on the left and future productions represented on the right. The original fake mustache divided the two halves of the exhibition.       First up is the Waco CG-4A Glider from "A Future in the Past." This recreation of the original WWII aircraft is nearly authentic in every regard, from the wing patterns and supports to the window shapes and front-mounted skis. While there is no interior (it's intended as a set piece), all of the doors, including the front, open and all of the wing flaps actually move,

We're Celebrating Ten Years of "Mystery at Shady Acres" with this Find and More!

By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; May 18, 2017)      We've just finished our other commitments, so now we're ready to celebrate ten years of Mystery at Shady Acres , which was performed at Bouquet Canyon Church on May 11-12, 2007! Here's what we have for today and the rest of the month!      First, we were quickly managing some info on the official wiki when we discovered this on the official page for Mystery at Shady Acres  on the Pioneer Drama Service website. Here's a screen capture from today.      Your eyes are not playing tricks on you. Pioneer Drama Service is using the Mustache Maniacs Film Co. re-release for sample clips for shoppers who are interested in buying the script! It appears that only the first two scenes are here (probably to avoid spoilers for those who have not seen the play), but this is still exciting news nonetheless!      However, we are not done celebrating the tenth anniversary of our last theater produ

Short Canon Change!

By: Andrew Bermudez (Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Headquarters; May 7, 2017)      Little has been going on lately due to other commitments, but we have found a small contradiction in our existing canon, and today we're fixing that! Here is the canon change from October 24, 2016 that we're amending. In the German house of Von Stuka, the iconic giant mustache is considered an emblem of honor, and to shave it off is to disgrace the family. The brother of Baron Von Stuka, Vikki Von Stuka, has three children: Shaved Schmidt Von Stuka, Baron Von Stuka Jr., and Baron Von Stuka III. What alienates Schmidt (who appears at the end of Indiana Jones and the Egyptian Tomb ) from the title of baron is the fact that he shaved off his mustache. However, his son, Baron Von Stuka IV (who will appear in the Project U film A Future in the Past ), let his mustache grow out, allowing him to assume the title of baron. He never marries, and dies in the Battle of Monte Cassino, ending the Von Stuka
