With summer winding down, we are certain that many of our readers are heading back to school. But before the semester wears on too long, we would like to give you all an end-of-summer update! Let's get started!
In the race to get filming for Johnny Thunder and the Wisdom of the Ancients done on time, all of the filming in Australia has now wrapped up! "We are glad to have this important part of the film shot," said director Steven Lawrence. "While it is a short portion, it does contain some of the most important plot points in the film." The cast and crew has now relocated to Romania, where the next few sequences will be filmed. Once again, we are not allowed to share photos of the set.
In other news, another film closer to its release time, A Bite of MyJobs, is now receiving enhancements in its animation to get it ready for its October 18th release date. "The film has been long delayed," said Drawn to Life Animation head Steve Brocko. "However, this final product will be a film worthy of College of the Canyons' CWEE department." On the same day, Forest of Fear will be featured in 3-D again.
In the meantime, more preparations are being made for "Ten Years of Going Crazy!," including writing the scripts for next year's short projects. Scripts for Attack of the Fifty-Foot Hamster and Speeder have already been written (the latter of which has been finalized), and the script for Legoettes Take Manhattan will be written in the coming months. Sometime soon, the CGI modeling for Jolly Roger and the Pirate Queen and Com 50 Covert Operations: The Interactive Mission will also start, which will result in the creation of several locations, from Cal Pada's most secret base to the shores of Treasure Island.
However, what everyone at the studio is excited about is what is planned for after "Ten Years of Going Crazy!" "We have a big, multi-year project planned for the coming years," said LEGO Studios CEO Mark Matthew. "but we won't be talking about it until next year." Until then, the project will be developed behind closed doors.
Until then, though, be sure to vote for The Second Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Fan Choice Awards! You have through October 31, 2013 to do so!
