The Scoring of ‘Secret of Marco Polo.’

In the first week of March, the Lego Studios board of directors found the perfect band to compose the score for Johnny Thunder and the Secret of Marco Polo. For the movie, Squidward Tentacles and his licensed band will be composing and conducting the score. “It’ll surely be a great experience to do this. It takes away from the same, old routine of cleaning up Wayne Manor,” said Al Fred, Bruce Wayne’s butler and the orchestra’s trumpeter. “Even though the last time I’ve led a band was at the Bubble Dome, I’m sure we can pull this off,” said Squidward Tentacles, the conductor for the orchestra.
However, when production first started, Squidward Tentacles and his licensed band was overlooked as a potential choice. Instead, the board hired famed composer John Silversmith. This composer has assembled several B.A.M.P.A. winning scores in the past, including America: Outlawed, Unmasked, Lego Wars Part 2: the Staff of Maniac, and others. However, Lego Studios had to reject him due to a complicated lawsuit. Apparently, his little brother, Joe Silversmith, sued the studio for favoritism, saying that his brother always gets work. Whereas, the only film Joe has composed was last year’s Trash Brick winner for worst picture, Plasmaburst. Lego Studios won the case.
Now that the lawsuit is behind them, Lego Studios can now continue assisting on the movie. “It was rather rough back in October with the lawsuit and all. But now, it’s over with. A new, ambitious band is now given the opportunity to prove themselves and shooting is continuing smoothly,” said Earl Johnston, head of the studio’s board of directors.
