Studio Updates: Almost Done Filming

By: Andrew Bermudez (Lego Studios; March 29, 2010)      Easter is almost here, and with it comes some great news: the filming for Johnny Thunder and the Gift of the Nile is almost done! Currently, the crew is outside Abu Simbel, and they just finished a major action scene. "We don't want to say what's it's about, in fear that we may spoil the movie, but I can say that it's an important part of the film," said Director Steven Lawrence. "After we are done outside, we will move inside, where the finale will be filmed."      Unfortunately, one of the extras was less than impressed with his paycheck. "He insisted that he wanted top billing with the stars," said boom operator Sarah Williamson. "After we pointed out that his character didn't even have a name, he got pissed off, knocked over a few stage lights, and stormed off into the desert. No one has seen him since then. Fortunately, we had more extras on hold." Assistant D...

Explore the New Lego Studios Database!

By: Andrew Bermudez (Lego Studios; March 16, 2010)      About one week ago, the motherboard for the studio's database died again. However, instead of putting in another motherboard, the studio's technicians decided to just simply replace the whole system. "Don't worry. We didn't lose any information. Currently, we are putting all of the backed up information onto the new system," said Mark Matthew, head of the board of directors.      Unlike the old system, which was a Windows XP, this new system is a Windows 7, and there is certainly a lot to like about the new computer. Johnathon Parker, scriptwriter-in-training, stated, "It's all so cool. Not only does it run faster with its quad-core processor, but it does other flashy stuff too. I can make virtual sticky notes, edit any of the computer's sound effects, watch TV on my computer, and more. Now, with the studio's new computer, I can goof off when I'm supposed to be doing my job. Oo...

Lego Studios Database Is Back Online!...ish

By: Andrew Bermudez (Lego Studios; February 9, 2010)      There were some complications, but the Lego Studios maintenance crew managed to do it: the motherboard for the studio's mainframe has been replaced! Now the studio operations have continued... for the time being. "I'm glad Alvaro Chavez got the mainframe fixed," said scriptwriter Peter Samuel. "It's just that the system's behavior with the new motherboard mystifies me. Whenever I turn the computer on now, I get an alert that states as follows: Reboot System: Write!! VIRUS: Continue (Y/N)?      True, this must be connected with the motherboard in some way, though I'm not sure how. The computer seems to have no problems, aside from the fact that it thinks there is new hardware in there, even though only the contrary is true. Unless, of course, it's talking about the motherboard."      In response to this, Mark Matthew, head of the board of directors, has order...

By: Andrew Bermudez (Lego Studios; January 18, 2010)      When it came out in August of 2008, Johnny Thunder and the Secret of Marco Polo set the record for longest brickfilm. At 99 minutes, it had taken the record that the 74-minute film Star Wars: the Great Disturbance had held. No other brickfilmer had succeeded at matching, let alone surpassing, that record... until now.      Back on January 8th, 2010, a new brickfilm, called The Ice Storm broke the record at 107 minutes. Released by Behind the Mind Films, The Ice Storm is an apocalyptic thriller that chronicles the advent of a new ice age, where mechanical creatures are freezing the world as survivors race for the equator. Will they be able to stop this menace? Find out for yourself through this link to the first part.
